  1. NDA: National Defence academy is the dream destination for many 18 year old guys. This academy is located in Khadakwasla, pune and is a tri service academy, where the cadets for army, navy and air force get trained together for a period of three years. On successful completion of which they get trained for their pre commissioning training in the respective academy of the arm of their choice, for a period of one year. NDA exam is conducted twice every year. The successful candidates of written exam are called for SSB. There is no minimum criteria for percentage in this.
  2. 10+2 Army Tech Entry: This is a chance for those who want to become both engineer and a Fauji. You can apply for this entry and make your way to Indian Army, getting a chance to do engineering from Officers Training Academy, Gaya. The mode of entry is direct, that means there is no written exam conducted. You have to apply on the basis of your 10+2 percentage. The cutoff is decided by the Army and people having percentage above that cutoff are called for SSB.
  3. 10+2 Navy Cadet Entry: This is the same thing as Army 10+2 Tech entry, including the same eligibility criteria and procedure of selection. In this also you are directly called for SSB on the basis of your 10+2 board exam marks.
How to join army after 12th exams

So now you are familiar with the three types of entries through which you can realize you dream of joining the forces. And after having a look at their eligibility criteria you’ll get to know that two out of these three entries are a direct entry, which means you need to score well in order to get a SSB call. One more thing to note here is that the magnitude of the number matter here and not the board, this means that no matter what board you are from there won’t be any leniency for you because your board is more difficult than some other board.

Board exams are probably the first important exam you give in your life. The marks you score in board exams are important for you to apply for some of the direct entries, like this one. With the increasing competition day by day the cut off is going high for these entries. Also your board marks help you to get in the merit list if you get through SSB. That is suppose you and one more person have the same SSB marks, so how will your position in the merit list be decided? It’ll be decide on the basis of your 12th board marks. And even a few marks can make a difference.
So put in all your efforts to get good marks in your board exams. Still there is time, if done in a planned and systematic way nothing is difficult. Sit down, plan out and work on your plan.
