Indian Army Officer and JCO Test Positive For Coronavirus

Two Indian army personnel have tested positive for the Coronavirus that has caused more than 1,000 infections in the country and killed 27 people, a person familiar with the development said. This brings the number of Covid-19 cases in the Indian Army to three with one soldier in Leh having tested positive earlier this month. But officials said that he has since recovered. Both personnel found positive for Covid-19 on Sunday had a history of travel within India earlier this month, the person said without specifying details.

Two army personnel — one a junior commissioned officer and the second an army doctor of the rank of colonel — had come in contact with have been traced and the identified people quarantined, the person said.
