Operation Maitri by Indian Army

Operation Maitri ‪#‎NepalEarthquake‬ ‪#‎IndianArmyRescueReliefWork‬
The Defence Wing, Embassy of India, Kathmandu, Nepal, under the Defence Attache Col Man Raj Singh Mann, has been working round the clock since the earthquake struck on 25 Apr 15. A dedicated team of six officers, four JCOs and 35 OR have been working relentlessly at Kathmandu and Pokhra, to facilitate relief operations by the Indian Embassy, Indian Army, Indian Air Force and the NDRF. They have ensured flawless coordination and smooth conduct of relief and restoration operations to include coordination with the Nepalese Army and the Nepalese Government, induction of troops, food & relief material and provision of medical aid. They have been the ‘Backbone of Op Maitri’. Defence Wing personnel, despite themselves having suffered in this earthquake (as their families are residing in Kathmandu), were the first responders and have continued to give their undivided focus in the ongoing operations without care to their own personal requirements.Operation Maitri
