In a reaffirmation of the Indian Army’s commitment to excellence in training and preparedness, Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi, Vice Chief of Army Staff (VCOAS), embarked on a visit to two crucial training establishments – the Military Intelligence Training School & Depot (MINTSD) in Pune and the National Defence Academy (NDA) in Khadakwasla.

At MINTSD, Lt Gen Dwivedi delved into the training infrastructure and recent initiatives aimed at harnessing the latest technology to enhance the capabilities of military intelligence personnel.

He received comprehensive briefings on the various training modules and exercises designed to sharpen the skills of the intelligence corps. Interacting closely with the faculty and troops, the VCOAS lauded their dedication and urged them to continue their pursuit of excellence in service to the nation.

The visit to MINTSD underscored the Indian Army’s emphasis on intelligence gathering and analysis in modern warfare scenarios, recognizing its pivotal role in safeguarding national security and interests.

Subsequently, Lt Gen Dwivedi proceeded to the esteemed National Defence Academy, where he engaged in discussions with Vice Admiral Ajay Kochhar, the Commandant of NDA.

The agenda included a detailed update on the ongoing training reforms implemented across the Tri-Services Academy, reflecting a concerted effort to adapt to evolving security challenges and operational requirements.

During his interaction with Vice Admiral Kochhar and other key personnel at NDA, the VCOAS emphasized the importance of fostering a holistic training environment that instills leadership, discipline, and strategic thinking in the future officers of the Armed Forces.
