The discussion saw participation from senior naval officers from both countries, who emphasized the importance of such engagements in fostering a robust naval partnership.

The dialogue underscored the commitment of both nations to maintaining a secure and stable maritime environment in the Indo-Pacific region.

To further cement the camaraderie between the two navies, a deck reception was hosted onboard INS Kiltan. The event was graced by Dr. Madan Mohan Sethi, Consul General of India in Ho Chi Minh City, alongside several dignitaries from the Vietnam People’s Navy.

The reception provided an opportunity for informal interactions and cultural exchanges, strengthening the bonds of friendship and cooperation.

In his address, Dr. Sethi highlighted the historical ties and strategic convergence between India and Vietnam.

He lauded the efforts of both navies in enhancing maritime security and emphasized the importance of continued collaboration in various domains, including humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, anti-piracy operations, and maritime domain awareness.

The visit of INS Kiltan to Vietnam is part of a broader strategy to enhance India’s maritime outreach and strengthen defense ties with key regional partners. It underscores India’s commitment to the Act East policy and its vision of a free, open, and inclusive Indo-Pacific.

Looking ahead, both navies are expected to engage in more joint exercises and operational interactions. These activities will not only enhance mutual understanding and operational synergy but also contribute to regional peace and stability.

The successful conduct of the pre-sail discussion and the warm reception onboard INS Kiltan mark another milestone in the enduring partnership between India and Vietnam.
