Since their affiliation in May 2019, the Assam Rifles and the Indian Coast Guard have made significant strides in fostering a close working relationship.

This partnership is crucial for maintaining security in India’s northeastern regions, which are prone to insurgency and cross-border crimes, as well as its vast coastline, which requires vigilant maritime security.

Lt Gen P C Nair emphasized the importance of this affiliation, stating, “The collaboration between Assam Rifles and the Indian Coast Guard is a testament to our commitment to safeguarding the nation’s security. Through our joint efforts, we can effectively address the multifaceted security challenges facing our regions.”
