Lt Gen Daljit Singh, Director General Armed Forces Medical Services (DGAFMS), visited the Indian Coast Guard Station (ICGS) Okha to review the medical facilities and operations in place.
During his visit, he was briefed on the roles and responsibilities of the District Headquarters (DHQ) 15 and the strategic use of hovercraft and ships in the Gulf of Kutch, Gujarat.
The visit aimed to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of the medical support available to the personnel stationed at ICGS Okha, ensuring that the healthcare services meet the high standards required for operational readiness.
Lt Gen Singh’s engagement highlights the commitment of the Armed Forces Medical Services to maintain and enhance the health infrastructure serving the nation’s maritime security forces.
The briefing also provided insights into the critical roles played by various sea and air assets in securing the strategic and commercially significant Gulf of Kutch, emphasizing the integration of robust medical support as a key component of operational planning.
