The Nepal Army Chief, General Ashok Raj Sigdel, has embarked on an official visit to India, marking a significant step in strengthening military ties between the two neighboring countries. Although he arrived today, his scheduled engagements are set to commence from December 11 and continue until December 14.

According to the Nepalese Ministry of Defence, the primary objective of this visit is to enhance bilateral military cooperation. During his visit, General Sigdel is expected to engage in discussions with Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi tomorrow. This interaction represents a vital opportunity for both military leaders to delve into mutual interests and areas of potential cooperation. General Sigdel will also receive a comprehensive briefing on India’s security perspective, which is anticipated to provide insights into the country’s defense strategies and priorities.
