Indian Army’s Territorial Army Battalion Takes Initiative for Gomti River Rejuvenation

Under the aegis of the Ganga Task Force (GTF) Battalion of the Territorial Army, a new company has been raised to spearhead efforts for the rejuvenation of the Gomti River in Lucknow. The initiative underscores the Indian Army’s commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable development.

In a symbolic ceremony, Brigadier Chinmay Madhwal, Commander of the TA Group Headquarters, Central Command, handed over the flag to Colonel Aravind Prasad S, Commanding Officer of the GTF. This gesture marked the formal launch of the dedicated effort to combat pollution and enhance public awareness about the importance of preserving vital water resources.

Territorial Army Battalion 2

The initiative, supported by ex-servicemen, will focus on regular monitoring of the Gomti River’s health, public awareness campaigns, and activities aimed at reducing pollution. The project aligns with broader national efforts to conserve water resources and promote ecological sustainability.
