Rinkoo Singh, a Leading Marine Engineer (LME) with the Indian Navy, has entered the record books after completing the fastest-ever bicycle journey across India, from Koteshwar in Gujarat to Kibithu in Arunachal Pradesh. Covering approximately 4,000 kilometers in just 12 days, 17 hours, and 59 minutes, Singh concluded the extraordinary journey on March 19, 2025. His feat was officially recognized by the International Book of Records on May 27, 2025.

Rinkoo Singh LME @indiannavy scripted history by becoming the โ€œfastest to travel from Koteshwar (Gujarat) to Kibithu (Arunachal Pradesh) on bicycleโ€. He completed the journey on 19 Mar 25 in 12 days, 17 hours, and 59 minutes,โ€ฆ pic.twitter.com/iicjf2Y2qr

The route connected Indiaโ€™s westernmost and easternmost points, starting at Koteshwar, known for its โ€œWesternmost Point of Indiaโ€ signpost, and ending at Kibithu, near the iconic Gen Bipin Rawat Dwar in Arunachal Pradesh. Singhโ€™s time broke the previous record of 13 days, 19 hours, and 12 minutes held by cyclist Preeti Maske since 2022.

Singh braved extreme conditions during his expedition, including a total elevation gain of 15,679 meters and sub-zero night temperatures in the hills of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. Despite the tough terrain and unpredictable weather, he maintained an unwavering pace, supported by the presence of military personnel at key checkpoints along the route.

The Western Naval Command commended Singhโ€™s accomplishment, highlighting it as an embodiment of naval discipline, physical fitness, and mental resilience. The achievement is seen as an inspiration not just within the forces but across the countryโ€™s growing community of endurance athletes.

Rinkoo Singh is no newcomer to long-distance cycling. Born on March 10, 1996, in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, he previously completed a solo ride from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and earned recognition as an IBR Achiever with the India Book of Records. His recent cross-country success adds another milestone to his record of exceptional endurance.

Singhโ€™s feat also comes in the wake of similar high-endurance efforts, including a 4,000-km tandem expedition in May 2025 by Dr. Meera Velankar and her partner from Kibithu to Koteshwar. His story adds momentum to Indiaโ€™s expanding landscape of adventure sports and showcases the remarkable possibilities of human determination.
