The mortal remains of Leading Aircraftman (LAC) Saurabh Singh of the Indian Air Force were brought to his native village Belara Kalan in Bharatpur district on June 16, where hundreds of villagers and uniformed personnel gathered to pay their final respects. The 23-year-old Air Force jawan tragically succumbed to injuries sustained during duty at Kumbhirgram Air Force Station in Assam.

Born in 2002, Saurabh Singh was a native of Belara Kalan village and had joined the Indian Air Force in 2020 after clearing the recruitment process with determination and pride. Serving in the rank of Leading Aircraftman, he had been posted at the strategically important Kumbhirgram Air Force Station.

Just weeks before the tragedy, Saurabh had celebrated a personal milestone—he got married on May 5, 2025. On May 22, he returned to duty at Kumbhirgram after spending time with his family.

Tragedy struck on June 14, when his family was informed that he had been seriously injured while on duty and was admitted to a top military hospital. Despite efforts to save him, Saurabh Singh passed away due to the severity of his injuries.

His body arrived in Belara Kalan on June 16, where an atmosphere of grief and pride enveloped the village. A guard of honour was given by fellow Air Force personnel, while local residents joined the procession to pay tribute to the young soldier who had dedicated his life in service of the nation.

The Indian Air Force and local administration extended condolences to the bereaved family. His sacrifice stands as a reminder of the unwavering commitment of the armed forces personnel who serve the country in both peace and peril.
