Heavy rains in the region had caused water levels to rise dangerously, submerging low-lying areas and cutting off access for local residents. Several families were trapped in their homes, unable to move to safer locations. Acting promptly, Army personnel deployed to the spot braved the strong currents and adverse conditions to ensure that every civilian was brought to safety.

According to Army officials, the operation was conducted with meticulous planning despite the urgency of the situation. The rescued individuals were immediately provided with medical assistance, food, and essential supplies before being shifted to safer shelters. Children and elderly residents were given priority during the evacuation.

Local residents expressed their gratitude to the Army for the timely intervention, stating that without their support, the situation could have turned tragic. “The water level was rising rapidly, and we had lost hope. The soldiers arrived like saviours and carried us to safety,” said one of the rescued villagers.

The White Knight Corps, responsible for guarding the Jammu region, has consistently remained at the forefront of humanitarian assistance during floods, landslides, and other natural calamities. Their actions not only save lives but also reinforce the trust and confidence that people have in the Indian Army.

This timely operation reaffirms that beyond guarding the nation’s frontiers, soldiers remain dedicated to safeguarding the lives of the people
