Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth, PVSM, AVSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command, reviewed the operational preparedness of the Thar Raptor Brigade during his visit to Nagtalao Military Station on Saturday.
The Army Commander was given a detailed briefing on the brigade’s advanced aviation, surveillance, reconnaissance, lift, and attack capabilities. The demonstration highlighted the brigade’s role in Operation Sindoor on May 7, 2025, when it played a key part in precision strikes against terrorist camps across the border following the Pahalgam terror attack.

Praising the formation’s professionalism, Lt Gen Seth lauded its high mission readiness and called on all ranks to maintain their pursuit of operational excellence. He also toured the aviation facilities, where he was briefed on the integration of state-of-the-art equipment and modern training methodologies.

The review underscored India’s growing emphasis on Atmanirbhar Bharat in defence, with the brigade showcasing a significant rise in indigenous technology adoption. According to the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (2024), India has seen a 30% increase in homegrown military technology integration since 2020.

Known for its agility and precision, the Thar Raptor Brigade continues to be a vital component of India’s defence strategy, capable of responding swiftly to multi-domain threats.
