In a major development, the NCCโ€™s flying training program, led by Raipur Group Headquarters, has been expanded to the Jashpur district airfield, providing cadets from remote regions with high-quality aviation training. Previously confined to Raipur Airport, the program now aims to reduce regional disparities and equip youth with skills for potential careers in the Indian Air Force and broader aviation sector.

Lt Col Pradeep Nair, overseeing the program, confirmed that the 3 Chhattisgarh NCC Air Squadron is maintaining strict safety and operational standards. Plans are underway to develop additional training facilities across Chhattisgarh, reinforcing the initiativeโ€™s commitment to nurturing the stateโ€™s aviation talent.

Background and Context

Lt Gen Shekhawatโ€™s leadership reflects both professional excellence and personal advocacy. In 2017, he filed a complaint with the Ministry of Defence over alleged promotion-related grievances, highlighting his understanding of career challenges within the military. Drawing from this experience, he is now promoting greater involvement of ex-servicemen in youth training programs.

The visit underscores the Indian Armyโ€™s commitment to the NCC and its pivotal role in shaping future leaders. By addressing gaps in infrastructure and personnel, Lt Gen Shekhawat aims to ensure the programโ€™s sustained growth, operational excellence, and effective youth engagement.
