In line with the Ministry of Home Affairsโ (MHA) Duty to Share initiative, the National Security Guard (NSG) Training Centre, Manesar, has commenced the first-ever Crisis Management Course for 30 officers from the Sri Lankan Police. The specialised training programme will be conducted from 22 September to 04 October 2025, marking a new chapter in regional cooperation on counter-terrorism and internal security.
The two-week course is aimed at strengthening the operational readiness of Sri Lankan law enforcement personnel in dealing with complex security scenarios. Participants will undergo intensive modules covering counter-terrorism operations, Improvised Explosive Device (IED) handling, coordination drills, crisis planning, reflex firing, and unarmed combat. The curriculum has been carefully designed to impart practical skills and tactical knowledge, enabling participants to respond swiftly and effectively during high-pressure situations.
Senior NSG instructors will conduct live demonstrations, field exercises, and simulated crisis scenarios, ensuring that the training is realistic, rigorous, and outcome-oriented. The course not only enhances technical proficiency but also focuses on developing leadership, decision-making, and coordination skillsโcritical elements in managing crises at both tactical and strategic levels.
This initiative underscores Indiaโs commitment to regional security cooperation and its willingness to share hard-earned expertise with friendly nations. By extending its specialised training capabilities to the Sri Lankan Police, India is helping build stronger interoperability and fostering trust between the two countries.
The Crisis Management Course at Manesar also reflects the NSGโs reputation as a premier counter-terrorism force, with unmatched experience in dealing with high-risk operations. It is expected that the training will significantly contribute to enhancing Sri Lankaโs preparedness in countering emerging security threats, while further cementing bilateral relations between the two neighbours.
