The National Defence College, established in New Delhi, is the highest institution for strategic learning within Indiaโs defence ecosystem. It offers a prestigious year-long course attended by a select group of one-star officers from the armed forces, senior civil servants at the rank of Joint Secretary, and around 25 officers from friendly foreign nations including the US, UK, France, Germany, Australia, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, and UAE. NDC plays a pivotal role as a think tank for the Government of India, contributing to policy formulation and strategic vision on national and international security matters.
The interaction between IMA and NDC underscores the continuum of leadership development within the Indian Armed Forces from the rigorous foundational training at Dehradun to the strategic-level education in New Delhi ensuring that the nationโs future military leadership is equipped to address emerging global security challenges with confidence and clarity.
