Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi, PVSM, AVSM, NM, Chief of the Naval Staff, visited the Indian Coast Guard Headquarters in New Delhi to attend the 42nd Coast Guard Commanders’ Conference.
Addressing the gathering, Admiral Tripathi highlighted the strategic importance of synergy between the Indian Navy and the Indian Coast Guard in strengthening India’s maritime security architecture. He called for enhanced interoperability, resource optimisation, and joint operational readiness to effectively counter evolving maritime challenges.
The Navy Chief emphasised that the partnership between the two forces reflects a shared commitment to securing national maritime interests, ensuring safe seas, and upholding India’s role as a responsible maritime power.
“The Indian Navy and Coast Guard together represent the nation’s resolve to safeguard its maritime frontiers. Our combined strength will be critical in addressing both traditional and non-traditional threats at sea,” Admiral Tripathi noted.
The conference brought together senior commanders of the Coast Guard to review operational preparedness, discuss emerging challenges, and chart the way forward for greater coordination with other maritime agencies.
