The Leadership and Management Course for Junior Leaders concluded on 15 October 2025 at the Junior Leaders Academy (JLA), Bareilly. The six-week course saw participation from Junior Leaders representing the Tri-Services and Assam Rifles. The training aimed to enhance leadership qualities, managerial acumen, and the ability to take decisive action under challenging conditions essential traits for effective leadership at the grassroots level of military units.
During the closing ceremony, the Commandant of JLA addressed the gathering and emphasized the vital role of Junior Leaders in maintaining unit discipline, boosting morale, and understanding their responsibilities and duties. He highlighted that Junior Leaders are the backbone of military formations and play a crucial part in ensuring cohesion, motivation, and operational efficiency within their units.

Among the standout achievers of the course, Havildar Navin Thapa of 1/1 Gorkha Rifles was adjudged the “Overall Best Student” as well as “Best in Theory” for his exceptional performance throughout the training. Naib Subedar Mohan Bhausaheb Suryabhan of 6 Maratha Light Infantry was recognized as “Best in Communication” and “Second Best Student,” reflecting his proficiency in leadership communication and academic excellence.
The course reaffirmed JLA’s commitment to shaping confident, capable, and responsible Junior Leaders who embody the spirit of service, discipline, and leadership expected from the Indian Armed Forces.
