Quick Tips For Clearing AFCAT Exam

Quick Tips For Clearing AFCAT Exam
AFCAT is a day or two away and this exam decides the future of thousands of aspirants who want to join the Indian Air Force. Clearing this hurdle only the successful aspirants would be called for SSB which itself is a battle. The written exam consists of about 100 questions which are chosen from diverse backgrounds to test general awareness, English, logical reasoning, aptitude etc.

The preparation for all these is needed as there are no fixed questions that come from the section and the average number of question varies every time the exam is conducted. Also the answers are needed to be filled on the OMR sheet specially designed for the purpose. At present the following tips can be useful:

  • Do not leave anything from syllabus and try to touch on the variety of topics.
  • English should be good enough to decipher what the question want to say. Also read the question carefully and then answer.
Quick Tips For Clearing AFCAT Exam
  • There are negative marks too for the wrong attempt, so be careful while attempting the questions and don’t just choose all to attempt.
  • Times management can be your keys to success so don’t waste too much time in a question, just try to regularise and if you get stuck just leave the question. This will help you to attempt more questions and score more.
  • When the result is declared the authorities declare a cut-off and all those scoring above it are only called for SSB.
  • Some latest magazines, daily newspaper reading can save you in the general knowledge section. Keep yourself updated through these tools.
  • If you are good at preparing note on tough topics that can be helpful now as it saves time and help in doing revision.
  • Number of candidates who are giving AFCAT is increasing by 15-20% in every exam which is a clear indication that more hard work needs to be put in as the competition is increasing
Few tips that could help during the exam day:
  • Keep the material like pencil, pen, admit card handy and don’t carry too much with you. No books needed on the day of exam because be assured if you have not read anything when you had sufficient time to prepare then that last moment study will definitely not help.
  • Enter the hall and occupy the position beforehand, settle down and feel calm
  • Do breathing exercise, sitting on the chair calmly; else the other people might get afraid of what has happened to you during the exam.
  • Follow the instructions given in the exam hall as supervisors are very strict there.
  • Never try to cheat, perform your best without thinking of the end result. Remember an officer can never cheat (“An Officer can fail many times but he wins only with right means”~~ Jayendra Pratap Singh), and you are sitting there for securing that position only.
Give your best without worrying about the end result and keep in mind the mistakes you make so that can be rectified immediately next time. Once you return do self analysis and note down the mistakes. Also start preparing for the SSB, don’t wait for the call letter as then only few days are left which are not sufficient. If you still have queries ping me on facebook or drop me a mail and let’s resolve in all your queries, help you in preparation through e- mentorship. All the best .

How to Do Well in Situation Reaction Test of SSB

1
ssb psychology test 1

This is a very special test of second day psychology round which tests the various aspirants for the normal happenings of the life and the situations that may arise suddenly in one’s life anytime. Situations given in the series are such that can anytime happen with anyone suddenly. You are provided with a booklet which has specially designed 60 questions. Each question depicts a situation and has a blank which needs to be filled by the taker of the exam as to what would be his/her reaction when such situation comes in the life.

The best formula to do such questions is to just write solution that you would opt for being a responsible citizen of the country. The following can help in attempting such questions:
  • Make a note of this that you cannot leave any situation unhandled but you have to provide a solution that is feasible by a human being not by a super hero.
  • Be realistic and practical with your answers
  • Be truthful and don’t try to fake as you are being tested at various places for the same quality or say that same quality should come out of your acts so never try to conceal anything.
  • Be brief in your solutions.
    ssb%2Bpsychology%2Btest%2B1
  • Also there might be some questions repeated to check consistency, just maintain that and don’t show different solutions at such places which gives the essence of fakeness.
  • Try to attempt as many questions as you want and don’t try to escape situations. That simply means you are thinking too much and responding by faking results
  • Read the situation properly before answering to understand the context of the place.
  • Quality of response matters not the quality but this does not give the freedom to think and write less. You score for more you right the answers rightly.
  • Your solutions and qualities might be discussed at conference by all the officers when they get together. So they should get the same person as it is when they go through the personality assessment.
  • Also it is suggested that you can refer books but should get your solutions assessed that whether they match your personality or not. Books only provide sample solutions.
  • Also answer for one individual might not be correct for one individual because you should remember that through these answers you have to prove your qualities what you actually have in you. So answers could be same but you should judge that you possess it or not.
    ssb%2Bpsychology%2Btest

Always keep trying and find a mentor who can help you individually to assess what you have and how it can be shown in front of assessors at SSB. Still if any query is bothering you, drop me a message on facebook and add me. We will try to resolve it together.

What Should You Have To Become An Officer?

0

We all know that OLQ’s are being checked at SSB, we have seen at many laces what all is needed but do we continuously remind ourselves for this? No most of us don’t. We need to remember that we should not only possess OLQ’s only when we receive a call letter for SSB but we should continuously inherit and practice the notion then only our psychology reflects the same there at SSB.
These are the characteristics that are being looked at:

  • Passion to perform at any circumstances
  • Speaking something which is logical, and involves rational thinking of yours
  • Friendly behaviour when in a team
  • Feeling comfortable when working in a team
  • Accepting challenges and facing them boldly
  • Appropriate aptitude and its application in various phases of life
    OTA Chennai
  • Leadership at its best, leadership in no case means ordering others but to live with success of others and appreciating the people giving onus of success to them
  • Confidence should be reflected in all of the things done
  • Cooperation is needed as there might be situations where you have to put down your decisions and constructively take or accept others decision
  • Complex problems will be part of life in many phases, you should know them how to face them boldly
  • Ability to make complex things easy with the application of brain and logic
  • Strong will that cannot be shaken even by the strongest wind
  • Adjusting in limited resources and enjoying the luxury if they are available in abundance, hence resourcefulness and adjustment in all the situations is needed
  • Faith of group on you should be there else you won’t be the choice to do the work
  • Clarity of concepts of every phase you are passing by
Now my readers would be thinking that i have collected qualities of some superman or the super power, but no it’s the qualities of our officers serving the nation. And please remember these are only few of them, they possess a lot many. You should also notice whether you have them or not as i have not mentioned the quality but the act. Kindly start noticing whether you react or act in a similar fashion and if not start doing so.
Specifically these are the qualities we show in our daily life and here are some situations we generally pass by. I am quite sure all the aspirants have them and in fact every human being possesses them, the difference lies whether we recognise and use them at the appropriate time. Believe me you are just a few step away from your dream, SSB is such a simple exam where you have to just demonstrate what you are, no special gyaan as in other exam or nothing else. Keep practicing and working hard, and if you feel problems are there for you ,please feel free to join me on facebook to get the resolution through mentoring.

Think Positive To Get Success In SSB

Think Positive To Get Success In SSB

“If I can imagine it I can achieve it, if I can dream it I can become it”

Dreaming is natural to all but you only dream whatever is in your subconscious mind and unconscious mind. They are part of life but hidden deep inside your brain. You are the one who has to get up and achieve it. Dreams can become reality because you see in dream only those things that had been your wish somehow or something you always wanted to achieve.

So if this is true why not start dreaming about SSB, what glory it can bring to you once you are recommended and become soldier serving the nation, what’s bad in dreaming about the shining starts on your shoulder, what’s bad in imagining your parents offering those shining stats to you. These are something which everyone on this page dreams of but something’s are needed to get your dreams true.
  • Always live life king size and consider yourself what you want to become.
  • This would increase your motivation level and keep your morale high.
    officers training academy
  • You have to prepare hard because the dream you have seen is something which cannot be achieved by everyone. Achieving is something tough; people have fear to even think of that. So if you have seen it you have something.
  • Start preparing for SSB immediately as it seems something easy but is a different sort of psychometric behavioural assessment.
  • I always suggest my mentees that you should prepare for SSB as soon as you think of defence as I have seen people preparing for written and then waiting for the result or the call letter. Once the result comes or call letter comes you will hardly have a month or so for SSB and that time is very less to prepare for it. So don’t wait just start.
  • Anytime any preparation does not go waste as you will only add something to your knowledge and build your personality.
  • Prepare for psychology properly and don’t be dependent on books alone as they are sample answers given but the same suits to your personality or not needs to be assessed by some expert individually , else you will keep on practising without knowing whether it has same characteristics as you or not. Ion my mentorship i ensure every individual is treated separately and assessed individually else the essence of mentorship is lost.
  • Live up to your expectations and think positive as the path you have chosen does not have negative word in the dictionary. An officer has the ability to see negative things also as positive and live a happy life.
Follow these simple steps and start preparing hard for SSB from the very beginning. Any queries can be forwarded to me related to SSB by messaging on facebook and adding me there. Let’s travel your success path together.

Women Will Soon Be in Combat Roles!

Women Will Soon Be in Combat Roles!

“The lady officers will soon be deployed in combat roles”, the IAF chief, Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha, indicated this in an interview with India Strategic magazine (www.indiastrategic.in) where he said that “The probability of women pilots flying in combat roles in the near future is very bright”. Although it may take some time for the decision to take effect due to procedural approvals, including from the defense ministry, the air chief’s statement is a clear indication that a positive decision has possibly been reached and could soon be announced.

IAF had already opened all branches for induction of women as Short Service Commission (SSC) officers, except in the fighter stream of the flying branch. In fact, so far, women officers in all the three services are not being deployed on active duty close to the border wherein they are likely to be exposed to direct line of fire by an enemy.

indian defence women

But apparently, in keeping with global trends and demands by women for parity even in combat roles, and also to make up for the shortage of officers, IAF, and then possibly the other two services, would gradually unleash them in the defense of the country.
The day is not so far when women will be allowed to serve in nearly all combat positions and even will rise to command a combat brigade.
