6 Tips To Crack CPSS Test Will Full Marks

1
cpss test

The CPSS test (formerly PABT) is conducted for those who want to become a pilot in the Indian armed forces. Anyone, irrespective of the service, has to undergo CPSS test to qualify for becoming a pilot in the Indian armed forces. The CPSS test is designed to check the candidate’s reflexive capabilities in response to external stimuli. In this test, the locomotive and sensory abilities of the candidates are put to examination; the tests are conducted to note the eye-ear-hand-feet coordination of the candidate.

CPSS test is conducted in three levels: Written Test, Light Control Test and Drum Test. The written test again consists of Apparatus Reading test and Plane Position Test.

In this article, I’m going to show the techniques and ways in which one can develop these skills to nail the CPSS test selection.

  1. Be a Good, Attentive Listener: Being a good and attentive listener is the most important quality for development of psychomotor skills. The instruments are explained in complete detail containing each and every point needed to qualify the test. Hence, the candidate should listen to the officer with an attentive mind and understand every detail that is given. Once, this is achieved, half the battle is won. This is useful in both Apparatus Reading Test and Plane Position Test in which candidates are supposed to read and understand the instruments on-board the aircraft.
  2. Play Computer Games: Everyone loves to play computer/mobile games and if you are a gamer, then bingo, you got this one. Research shows that people who play 14 hours of computer games continuously has shown a significant increase of upto 25% in decision making ability. I’m not asking you to play games for the full day, but, play games that challenge your brain. My personal favorite game for brain exercise is ‘Duet’. You can get it on Play Store. This is helpful in the Light Control Test in which you’re made to sit infront of a CRT monitor and asked to fly a plane (pun intended).
  3. Meditate and Exercise: The best way to make a good coordination within your body parts is to control your brain-the center of the body functions. Conquer this, and you would’ve conquered the coordination between your limbs. Do meditate two times daily for 20 mins. If not possible, meditating for 5-10 mins in the morning would be a good start. And yeah, do exercise for atleast 30 mins, daily to keep those muscles flexible and handy.cpss test
  4. Check on your diet: Eating food rich in fibre will help your brain get that extra energy in the long run. Also, try to limit the consumption of coffee, cokes and other caffiene related drinks. Get a good night’s sleep for atleast 6 hours. Drink water in regular intervals and limit intake of dietry supplements. For your vision, grab those carrots and take fish cod liver oil.
  5. Self-Introspection: As you all might’ve concluded from reading articles on ssbcrack.com that self-introspection is the key to success, it holds true here too. The assessor will observe only what you show to them. So, it’s a better practise to know well about yourself and show the best of your OLQs. It is never late to start. Do it now and be foucused! This is assessed in the written test. Maintain a diary and jot down your achievements of the day, be it any smaller or be it not make any significant difference. At the end of the day, you’ll be happy of it and it’ll motivate you.
  6. Mental Practise and Preparedness: This is very common in the making of an officer pilot. Military pilot should have presence of mind and should be capable to withstand mental and physical strains at the odd time. Be mentally prepared for what you’re opting for and it’s consequences. With the induction of the Fifth Generation fighter aircrafts, it had became much more demanding of the pilots to take the right decisions quickly to avoid any loss of aircraft or in worst scenario, life.

I hope these tips will make the best for developing your psychomotor skills and get the best pilot out of you. Are you up for it? #TouchTheSkyWithGlory #IAF

Recommended for SSC NT 102 From 14 SSB Allahabad In 3rd Attempt

Recommended 14 SSB Allahabad

“Victory at all costs, victory in spite of all terror, victory however long and hard the road may be; for without victory, there is no survival.” -Winston Churchill.

I remember last year at this time, I had written a similar article for SSBCrack about my experience at 14 SSB Allahabad, for the 100th NonTech course OTA. However, this time it is a bit different. I achieved success. This is the story of how I got recommended in my third attempt from the very SSB board that had rejected me last year. The key to success is based on doing things differently, not doing different things. In the month of December, I had decided to go to Olive Green Institute, Chandigarh as I was massively confused about SSB and my personality. The mentors at OG were instrumental I making me realise that I was just another confused boy of 21 who needed to get his act together. Hence, my journey had started. Aspirants, it is important for us to understand the meaning of those 15 OLQs and apply it to our lives rather than using them for a week and forgetting them. Col DJS Chahal had said, “Be a good human being, SSB will become the simplest thing to clear in life.” In February 23rd, I went to 1AFSB Dehradun where I was conference out again. It is when I realised, there was one puzzle that was missing. It was that I worried too much about the outcome of the SSB, as if, what will happen to me if I don’t clear it? Life is bigger than that, this was the major realization that I had. When the time to appear for the CDS 2 SSB came for SSC NT 102, I let myself relax, forget the past. God works in weird ways, I got into the same board as before- 14SSB. Reaching the railway station, I found around 67-68 odd candidates waiting (it was the primary batch).Recommended 14 SSB Allahabad

Day 1:Nothing major happened, just the documents were verified. We retired to our barracks chatting with each other. We were divided into two batches of around 32 and 36 into 14SSB and 34SSB.

Day 2: The screening test was held on this day. The OIR was simple as usual. PPDT was also pretty simple as the picture was clear. I wrote a nice story about a photography expedition and narrated it confidently. During the discussion, I was controlling the crowd, helping others speak and also add relevant points. I was screened in and given chest number 15. We had to fill in the PIQ form and other documents. Please fill in the PIQ form cautiously and honestly as this would highlight the person you are and will be assessed on the basis of this sheet of paper.

Day 3: The Psychological test is administered on this day. It is no doubt an important test as the psychologist is the only assessor who won’t meet you in person (except in the conference). Out of the two PIQs you will, one will go to the psychologist and hence it is important to write these tests in accordance to your PIQ form. Now for those who will write an honest PIQ form, their first response naturally becomes in sync with the form (if he/she is not confused about himself/herself). The blank story in TAT should be something that you have done in your life, that way it remains a natural story. The SRTs should again contain very natural reactions that you would do in that situation. E.g. if a band of robbers attack you, you just give them what they want instead of being Rajnikant and kick their ass, sorry, you won’t be able to do that. In short, to ace the Psych test, you really need to know the person you are, it is very much highlighted in the self description test. The TAT portion should contain stories highlighting work where your qualities emerge out, but in a natural manner.

Some of you might be asked to go for your PI on the same day, the rest can have the time off, enjoy a movie at PVR or just chill at the canteen.

Day 4 and Day 5: GTO!!! The best thing about SSB is the Group Task! The first event is GD. Again, the same policy had been applied by me as the PPDT discussion part. Listen, help, talk. It does not matter how much you speak, the quality of the matter is important.  Hence if you speak 10 useless points, it can be overlooked by 3 smart and useful points.

The GPE or group planning exercise is again very interesting. For this, I would only say, you are coming for a job as an Army officer, always remember, MISSION COMES FIRST. Use this principle to score points in GPE.

The PGT, HGT, FGT, Snake Race depends on the same factor as GD- Listen to ideas, apply your ideas and help others implementing their ideas. You cannot bear to be overbearing. The group will reject you instantly. Individual obstacles are important in bringing out your qualities of courage, stamina, self confidence, tact, planning. Lecturette is an important device to test your speaking skills and also the way you organise your thoughts. The Command Task is important as the GTO is assessing your ideas individually. I had the best GT experience this time and it was all due to loosening up a bit and enjoying every moment. Confidence is vital, team spirit is essential.

I had my PI right after the first day of GTO hence I went in my PT uniform. The President of the board welcomed me and asked me to sit. We hit it off immediately as he asked me to narrate my lecturette topic. He asked “How was your GT?” I replied immediately “Sir, excellent!” He went on to chat with me for an hour and 15 minutes asking me about my life from 10th Standard till date, asking a lot of GK questions and putting me through various situations based on the work I claimed to do in my PIQ. After the best interview of my life, I left, for the first time thinking that I might have a shot.

Conference Day (Day 6):

The most nervous day of my life, all of us reluctantly packed our bags and left for the waiting area. I looked at my bed and said “I will come back today.” All of us went to the conference waiting room and waited for our turn. As I was called in, I stepped inside a room full of officers, smartly dressed. The President of the board asked me which tasks I did well and did not do well, what preparations had I taken (when I did mention about Olive Green). He asked if I had any suggestions and then asked me to leave the room. It could not have been more than 2 minutes.

Finally, an officer came with a file to declare the results. When he said Chest number 15, I could not believe my ears. I was recommended. All these months of hardships finally began to make sense.

Dear friends, it is determination and the zest to live life king size that makes us leaders, because it makes us different. That is what will help to clear SSB- Determination, Introspection and leading a very tension-free life.

I have cleared my medicals and shall join OTA in October. I hope this will help you all. Be happy, be helpful, be brave.

JAI HIND!

10 Amazing Fighter Jet Camouflage You Must See

Fighter Jet Camouflage

Fighter Jet camouflage is the use of camouflage, typically in the form of light and color patterns, applied to military aircraft to make them more difficult to see on the ground, in the air, or to make their speed, distance or attitude harder to determine.Military camouflage is highly dependent upon environmental conditions and is primarily effective against human observers, though some electronic visual acquisition systems can also be confused. It does not hinder radar location or heat-seekingelectronics although the paints used may contain substances that can.

10 Important Points Every SSB Recommended Candidate Should Know

recommended ssb

10 Important Points Every SSB Recommended Candidate Should Know: Getting recommended may sure be like a dream come true for you, but if you think that you have reached your goal and thus can relax now, then you are wrong. Candidates tend to relax after they get recommended, and await their merit/medical. Of course, it is a time to celebrate, as you are a closer to your goal of joining the Armed Force, but read again, you are just one step closer to join, you haven’t yet reached. In reality you don’t get the stars, until you get them, i.e. until you cross the antim pag. After getting recommended, it is the time to be more careful, cautious, and in fact doing a lot of things, which you wouldn.t have done otherwise. Let us see what all you can/should do after you get recommended:

  1. Celebrate: Celebrate to the core. Do not compensate in celebrations. Celebrate with your family, friends and mentors. However bounce back as soon as you can. Caution: Lots of work ahead.
  2. Eat how much you want to, NO: May be these are the last few days till you say bye-bye to home cooked food or to your favorite restaurant, but you need to keep your eating habits in check. You’ll be pressurized to eat by your mom, will have loads of parties with friends to celebrate, but let them eat. The problem is if you gain excess weight, you’ll have difficulty in training, and then you’ll have to do extra rounds there, which are (I can vouch) more painful than not eating your favorite food.
  3. Exercise: We tell a lot of our aspirants to start jogging and mild exercises for SSB. You are on a higher level now, after your recommendation. So the exercises you do, should be of higher level too. Concentrate more on building up your stamina. The way the basic military training is,, in all the academies, it demands a lot of physical fitness, stamina. So it is strenuous, wouldn’t it be better to start a little now, so that you can catch up easily in the academy (nahi toh unhone ne to kara he lena hai kaise bhi).recommended ssb
  4. See the rising sun: This is not some life teaching. This is again to get you habituated with the academy schedule. Days in the academy start very early and wind up late.
  5. Prepare your mind: Training is a bit tough, more on the mental level, being almost cut-off with the rest of the world. Though you’ll have your course mates there, who’ll end up being your life-long friends. Better if you talk to somebody who has been in the training. This will prepare you mentally, and everything will not fall like a bomb in your sweet fairly land (Sadly very girly line, but guys too run away from the training! Duhhh!).
  6. Spend time with your loved ones: You’ll be off the grid for almost 6 months. You’ll love that time, but your loved ones will miss you (you’ll miss them too). Spend as much time you want to with your family, friends, classmates/colleagues, you’ll mostly see them after six months.
  7. Do all what you want to: Once in the academy, you’ll hardly get time to do whatever you want to do, like your hobbies or interests, so do all of them now. Surf the internet, read all what you have pending in your list, go out for a trip etc.
  8. Don’t stop applying for other entries: Yes you have been recommended, but you are still not sure whether you’ll get in the merit list or not. So, keep going for piled up SSB’s, keep applying for upcoming entries.
  9. Do not leave your job: If you are employed, do not leave your job instantly. Reason? See point number 8.
  10. Don’t forget us: Write your experience, give an interview, share your thoughts with us, and thus with other aspirants. Come on, itna toh banta hai!

Stay positive. All the best. Happy training (officer)!

Pakistan says it shot down Indian drone, Army and IAF say not ours

Indian pakistan drone

The Pakistan army said Wednesday it had shot down an Indian “spy” drone which it alleged was being used for aerial photography near the Line of Control (LoC), a claim dismissed by India. The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), in a brief statement, said the Indian drone was brought down near the LoC in Bhimber area of Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK). The army claimed that the drone was being used for aerial photography and was “brought down for violation of Pakistan’s territorial integrity”.

But the Indian Army and the Indian Air Force denied that any of their drones had crashed or had been shot down. A spokesperson of the Indian Army said: “Some reports of a drone crash in PoK are being referred to. No drone or UAV crash of the Indian Army has taken place.” An IAF spokesperson also denied that any of their drone had been brought down. (ENS adds: It is learnt that Pakistan plans to summon the Indian high commissioner in Islamabad on Thursday to lodge a protest.) The alleged shooting down of the drone came nearly a week after the ice-breaking meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif in Ufa, Russia. The incident comes in the backdrop of a ceasefire violation Wednesday by Pakistan. PTI

Indian Army Orders for over 2,000 Units of Maruti Gypsy

0
Maruti-Suzuki-Gypsy- Indian-Army

Showing its love for the homegrown Indian machine, the Indian Army has recently placed an order for 2017 Maruti Gypsy for its fleet. While it’s been long time since the Maruti Suzuki has stopped manufacturing the iconic jeep for commercial market, the vehicle is still in huge demand for defence fleets.

The Maruti Gypsy was first launched in India in 1985. The popular utility vehicle came with a petrol powered engine later started to lose its charm with the entry of the more feature rich diesel powered SUVs. But is not the case for the Indian Army, which still has a deep love and trust for the popular SUV. Getting its first order in 1991, Maruti has delivered in excess of 35,000 Gypsy SUVs to the Army since then. Last year, the Indian car major got its single largest order from the Indian Army for over 4000 units of the same vehicle. In the last decade or so, the GS 500 category is dominated by the Gypsy and the vehicle is not likely to get phased out as of yet.Maruti-Suzuki-Gypsy- Indian-Army

The Indian Army is known to have ordered 3200 vehicles of the Mahindra Scorpio and Tata Safari to replace its old fleet of SUVs. But they just don’t seem like parting with the age old favourite Maruti Gypsy. Apparently the order for these Maruti Gypsy was placed by the Indian Army few weeks ago and reports claim that the company will start the deliveries by next month. Currently Maruti sells the Gypsy at INR 6 lakh, which brings the total order value for Maruti Suzuki at INR 125 crore.

Coming to the iconic machine itself, the Maruti Gypsy is powered by a 1.3-litre MPFI Gasoline Engine the churns out 81 PS of max power and 103 Nm of peak torque. Power is transmitted to all the four wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox.

4 Personality Development Tips For Success At SSB

4 Personality Development Tips For Success At SSB

4 Personality Development Tips For Success At SSB. Serving the motherland is the dream of many but only few are lucky enough to achieve that and fulfil it. This does not mean that only few individuals have the OLQ’s and the capability to succeed or the selection process is quite tough but it means that few work in right direction and under right guidance while other few are obstructed  by wrong guidance and path that they follow. There are also many myths that prevail in the place and it can mislead many. SSB is a different category of assessment where things are psychologically assessed and personality and potential of an officer is looked at. Many aspirants have their upcoming SSB and have asked me to share tips on these lines so this article is dedicated to all their requests.

Developing personality is not easy as it is shaped by many factors like:

  • Way one is brought up
  • Educational qualifications and studies done
  • Family background and social status
  • Way of thinking and living and the people one is surrounded with

Definitely this list is not exhaustive and can increase and also be assured that controlling such factors is not in our hands earlier but now you have full control and should work as below to achieve your goal for the development of personality and thus achieving success :

  • Live life with positivity: Life is very small and hence every second of it should be spent wisely. It should not be the case that one is wasting life. Positive thinking even at difficult situations can help in coming out and this approach changes the way one looks and live the life. Thus it helps in improving your psychological responses.4 Personality Development Tips For Success At SSB
  • Controlled body language: body language is the reflection of ones personality before anyone can speak up things. It always help individual to perform better at places. It also tells many traits and thus assessors make it important tool to assess at SSB to know about one’s personality.
  • Self-introspection of self: This is a technique where one assess himself or herself w.r.t OLQ’s by studying life events. In times to come it will be the only key to success at SSB. Many a times aspirants have complaint to me by dropping personal mail that everyone says do introspection while guiding us but no one has done it for us and made our profiles while teaching or guiding in large groups. Suggestion for such people is that always look for individual guidance so that personality could be properly assessed and there is full time dedication for self.
  • Learning from failures: There is so much to do in today’s era that even if one failure comes one should pick up the learning and perform in the next go. There might be many dreams that will be fulfilled while others may not but one should move ahead with constant pace.

Hope this helps in preparation and achieving success. Still If you have any confusion or feel to take individual assessment of personality for OLQ’s or prepare from your place itself through one to one interaction through my mentoring / counselling program drop me a mail at [email protected] or add me on Fb and drop in a message. You will receive the repose personally. If there are things bothering you and you think I can be of help please share. SSB is the easiest exam if the right path is followed as it’s the path of just knowing yourself.

How To Perform Well In CDS SSB?

0
How To Perform Well In CDS SSB

CDS is a special entry for all the three forces where the entry to the aspirants is provided based on a written exam that is conducted by the UPSC. All those who clear this exam are called for the SSB and allocated service based on their choices. This exam can be given by the non-technical cadre also and those of the aspirants who are in technical cadre but are not getting calls due to low percentage can opt for this entry. Another advantage of this entry is that the aspirants that get shortlisted for SSB are less in number as compared to the direct entries where the aspirants attending SSB are two to three times the aspirants called here. This can be a big relief for many.

The written is conducted twice a year and those aspirants who have cleared the written this time would be looking for the tips. So here they are:

  • Please remember that at SSB you are only assessed for the OLQ’s so keep them in mind and prepare accordingly. There can be a lot that can be done but we should not lose the focus and prepare sincerely towards the goal with dedication.
  • Take things positively at SSB and do not go with pre conceived notions. Every start should be a fresh start.
  • Introspect deeply before appearing for SSB as that can only save one from getting a know how about yourself and performing to the fullest there.
  • Remember not to fool anyone and prepare sincerely for your dream.
  • Never believe in myths that you hear from various resources as that can bother you thus degrading your performance.
  • If you are looking for the preparation, always see a place where you would be individually guided as SSB is all about individual personality and if taught in large chunks one can miss on important aspects. Also at such places individualistic personality is lost.
  • Get ready with your profiles so that you know what you have and what needs to be improved on. Once this is done then the practice set can be taken and things will definitely move in right direction.
  • Practice for various rounds should only be done once you know your real self.
  • Follow proper schedules and time tables and start preparing early rather than waiting for the last moments. How To Perform Well In CDS SSB

Please remember that at SSB things are psychologically judged so even if a high grade of English is used it might not lead to selection if things are not matching your personality or does not reflect your true self, so preparation in proper order should be done. Still If you have any confusion or feel to take individual assessment of personality for OLQ’s or prepare from your place itself through one to one interaction through my mentoring / counselling program drop me a mail at [email protected] or add me on Fb and drop in a message. Proper introspection is the only key for success as that can help revealing your true self and thus enabling you to perform better. SSB is nothing but revealing you fully and that is an easiest job for the individual. Keep reading more for other important tips and solutions.

Repeater Special – Preparation Tips For SSB

0
Repeater in ssb

All the aspirants must be aware who are called the repeater in SSB. People who do not get recommended are termed with this nomenclature and they are formed a part of separate group in next visit so that they can compete with the people with similar experience. Fresher’s or the person attending the SSB first time participates in a different group where they compete with the similar people. This classification is just done to provide a fair chance to every individual. The competition at SSB is really tough as one need to figure out the real self through introspection and then replicate the same at SSB. Many repeaters have been asking me personally that what special preparation they need to do for getting selected at SSB.

The answer is simple: no special preparation and no special treatment is given to anyone at SSB. All are evaluated equally against the 15 OLQ’s and that’s it. So one should never feel low if he or she could not make for his dream in this go. There is always a next time but one should rather repent for the mistakes that one made in the course of SSB should bang the jackpot perfectly the next time. The repeaters must follow the following way of preparation for success:

  1. Realise the mistakes and never repeat them: One should always learn from the mistakes and should try not to replicate and learn what went wrong rather than thinking in other terms.
  2. After the learning has been done from the mistakes one should do self-introspection which involves studying of life events with respect to OLQ’s and thus gaining what needs to be prepare more. This can be done through self and if anyone needs guidance they can take mentorship from me where personally the problem areas are studied and few psychology tests are conducted to form the profile and guide in this regard.Repeater in ssb
  3. After the introspection one should deeply work with the flaws found and then the improvement starts. That’s why I always say that SSB preparation needs time and should be started well before time and not at the last moment. I also don’t understand how aspirants can be taught in large groups for this personality related aspects in few weeks and get them prepared. If one is looking for guidance always pay heeds towards individual assessment.
  4. Then comes the practice of the various rounds and seeing whether things are matching with your real self. Whether they are the things you write in psychology or perform at ground or speak to the interviewer, all should perfectly match.
  5. If this routine is followed diligently with perfect guidance success will never be a problem for the individual.

This is just the basic outline for the individual to be followed diligently. Also I have written article earlier where the sample stories, WAT and SRT have been published. Just go through them once and see how things are easy which look complex because one believes in the myths. Still If you have any confusion or feel to take individual assessment of personality for olq’s or prepare from your place itself through one to one interaction through my mentoring / counselling program drop me a mail at [email protected] or add me on Fb and drop in a message. Believe me there is no distinction between fresher and repeater and all are neutrally evaluated. If you have the right degree of OLQ’s no one can stop you from getting recommended. Work for your goal and serve the motherland.
