Recommended By The Indian Army From SSB Bhopal: Name- Sajal Roy, Age 21- Recommended Candidate (First Attempt)- Indian Army, Bhopal 22 SSB, Short Service Commission (tech entry-43), Merit list rank-1, Electronics and Instrumentation. A soldier is a person who lives by chance, loves by choice and protects by profession. Right since childhood, I was into the fantasy world of trumpets and canons. 9th June 2014 was the day. Reporting time 0600hrs Bhopal SSB and I remember reaching there at 0300 hrs and the man at the gate asked me to sit outside on the bench as I reached way before the time. When books are released they are released with a purpose, I got convinced about this when I was solving the questions of Screen In test. So its always a wise option to practice the numerical, logical based questions from the books, they are available in plenty. Also, the books contain a good glimpse of interview conversation and topics which eventually widen our horizon

1st day- After solving the questions from the booklet we proceeded towards picture perception. Here’s the game point, I followed a strategy to write something good about the picture no matter how bad could it be. It was with a view that such a writing shows the optimistic person inside u which is an essential officer like quality. Moreover in that writing if we link It with something logical and accompany it with facts and figures it becomes even stronger. The picture was a boy picking some load in a factory and a person dressed up in tuxedo standing nearby, so I wrote that this guy is a poor middle-class guy working hard for his educational expenses and now he has cracked some state scholarship exam …….So this sort of thing gives an optimistic edge to the write up and a good impression. Also from experience, I have observed that throwing facts and figures in a group discussion makes u the limelight and in turn everyone gets into an agreement with you (after PPDT , a group discussion is held to discuss the story).
So here I got selected and then the SSB fight for the next 5 days.
ssb bhopal
The PPDT (psychological and word test) I handled it with the same strategy. The word test is something where one can even write phrases, for example, the word truth- I wrote truth always triumphs, blood- blood bridges the gap between life and death. The situation reaction test is something where one has to be very genuine. For example- A person lying in a road with his bike (clearly indicating an accident ) and u are going office- Reaction- I would dial the ambulance and if at that time no one is attending the man then I would take the man, so it is pretty simple and honest answer. Honesty is always appreciated.

Now GTO is something which I would like to discuss, the knowledge from the SSB books really helped a lot. In the full group task one barely manages to show skills, so half group task is where things become clearer and then the Individual obstacle task & Commander Task (where u get opportunity as a single entity to showcase your skills ). In the individual obstacle task, only the strategy of choice is tested that how well u cover the all the obstacles in minimum time. PS- One need not cover all the obstacles, for example I did only 8 out of 10, but I chose to do all the task which had a higher weighting of points and were somewhat energy consuming like ropewalk, jumps , rope crawl down, pit jump etc. After all this there comes a task where a problem statement is given, one has to write a solution and then discuss it in the group. Here is where the book knowledge helped me.
Let me give an example- The NCC group had to go for a fire shooting festival, on its way they met goons harassing a poor man, another person had an accident and some other stuff. Here as we observe there are 3 objectives, 1- save the poor man from goons 2- take the person who met with an accident 3- deal with the some other stuff, but the right answer is 4 objectives, 4th being the initial objective – going to the fire shooting festival. When I mentioned this point in the discussion it served like a game point. Slowly I was feeling more confident towards the recommendation.
Finally the interview which lasted for 51 minutes, was of the highest duration in mine batch. It was the best interview of mine life. I have observed one thing closely, the Interviewing officer closely observes your listening skills. For example as I entered and sat down he told me – “ I want to know about your schooling about your academics about your achievements about your extra circulars in college and your family background”.SO all this in a row one needs to remember and if u meet the order it’s a good point for you. Since it was a technical entry more question were from technical which I handled well . The next day being the big day “Conference Day”.
Results- Roll no call out going on, heart throbbing and then I heard – Roll no 746199 , chest no 18, Sajal Roy………and then the roar of clapping in the auditorium.
ssb bhopal recommended candidates
Medically I got unfit on crucial grounds leading to a permanent rejection. I am born without a gall bladder and some dental issues. But what I want to say to all others Is that when in the SSB center, be at your best attitude, a gentleman attitude and have respect for all, be it the man at the gate or the man at the mess. Have a feeling of being the best, being the confident man and that’s what makes the difference. After who doesn’t want a dedicated, passionate, intellectual person. And better be well acquainted with all current affairs before u reach ssb, like I follow some websites like nirdeshak.com and affairscloud.com. Better to be acquainted with the entire army history, the no of divisions and all and the awards and honors like Paramveer Chakra and Kirti Chakra.
Today I do not have the uniform and neither will I be able to join the defense again, but the amount of confidence the SSB recommendation has given me is out of the world.
On Sept 6, 2014: Our merit list was out where I got Rank 1 from Instrumentation Engineering and this is the batch of the Recommended candidates from our batch.

How to Improve Responses of Situation Reaction Test (SRT)?

0
SRT

Psychology is the most important aspect for SSB for any of the defence aspirant. It deals with the unconscious and subconscious mind of the people so aspirants have no option of modifying responses. In the internet, I have seen the buzz where people are practicing and appreciating responses of others. This might not be a good [practice as it can influence personality. I have also seen aspirants changing their natural responses if they like others responses. So beware of all this and do not follow it. You have to be alert on all these issues and see that your personality is only reflected in whatever you do at SSB. Be very specific for this in psychology. In this article, I will try to help aspirants on how to tackle the SRT’s. The following can help:

Improve Responses of Situation Reaction Test (SRT)

  • Be brief in your solutions
  • Also, there might be some questions repeated to check consistency, just maintain that and don’t show different solutions at such places which give the essence of fakeness.
  • Make a note of this that you cannot leave any situation unhandled but you have to provide a solution that is feasible by a human being not by a super hero.
  • Your solutions and qualities might be discussed at the conference by all the officers when they get together. So they should get the same person as it is when they go through the personality assessment.
  • Also, it is suggested that you can refer books but should get your solutions assessed that whether they match your personality or not. Books only provide sample solutions.
  • Also answer for one individual might not be correct for one individual because you should remember that through these answers you have to prove your qualities what you actually have in you. So answers could be same but you should judge that you possess it or not.
  • Be realistic and practical with your answers
  • Be truthful and don’t try to fake as you are being tested at various places for the same quality or say that same quality should come out of your acts so never try to conceal anything.
  • Try to attempt as many questions as you want and don’t try to escape situations. That simply means you are thinking too much and responding by faking results
  • Read the situation properly before answering to understand the context of the place.
  • The quality of response matters not the quality, but this does not give the freedom to think and write less. You score for more you write the answers rightly.

This post is all about the most common situation reaction test examples and mistakes done by most of the candidates while reacting to them. As most of you know that Situation Reaction Test is a part of psychological test series conducted under stage two testing at SSB. Situation Reaction Test examples are designed by DIPR which stands for Defence Institute of Psychological Research (DIPR is a premier research laboratory of Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and has completed more than six decades of dedicated service to the nation in general, and Indian Armed Forces, in particular).

These SRT examples are created in such a way that they bring out your intellectual and analytical ability, not only these, but your responses towards situation reaction test examples [SRTs] talks a lot about your personality like, what kind of person you are, what could be your family background, what could be your surroundings etc. As we are already giving lot of tips related to Situation reaction Test, in this article we are going to give some most commonly asked situation reaction test examples, and the mistakes candidates make while writing their responses. Like always, we are not going to give a fixed solution to any situation reaction test example here, but we would be discussing about the wrong assumptions made by the candidates while reacting to these common situation reaction test examples.

Most Common Situation Reaction Test Examples

  1. He was on his way to home and suddenly it started raining heavily. He.
  2. In his train compartment, two gunmen force passengers to give their belongings. He.
  3. He was in charge of a wireless board in a sailing ship which lost its communication with the coast. He.
  4. During a trekking trip, he was left alone in the jungle. He.
  5. He saw his girlfriend walking with another person on his way. He.
  6. He was playing outdoor and his brother got seriously injured and it started to rain heavily. He.
  7. The leader of his trekking team decides to take a longer route when the time is running out. He.
  8. He was walking on a dark street with his girlfriend then suddenly 10 armed people came & started harassing his girlfriend the next police station was 10km away. He..?

Above we have given 7 different but common situation reaction test examples which you will face at SSB. If not same, you will find the similar type of situations very often in situation reaction test.situation reaction test

Common Mistake Made By Aspirants In The Above Mentioned Situation Reaction Test Examples Respectively

  1. You can simply say as he is going back on his car, so he will drive safely and reach home. Stop exaggerating the heavy rain, heavy rain is not going to kill you.
  2. Could be a routine checkup by RPF jawans, think of the most likely situation, to be practical, only two gunmen can not loot the whole train, not even in Bollywood movies.
  3. A ship normally faces communication problem, which is a normal scenario, being a ship encharge it is very easy for you to make it work again and use another communication system meanwhile. Again, think practically, if you were a normal passenger on that ship, then it will be a problem for you to fix it, but not for a ship in charge.
  4. Use your mobile phone, yes will work in a normal Jungle where you would go for a trekking trip.
  5. You could go and meet your girlfriend and your girlfriend’s girlfriend. You are so lucky to talk with two young girls, what else do you want! On a serious note, “person” could be a male or female, all it depends on how you perceive it. Be witty sometimes.
  6. Take out his car and go to hospital along with his injured brother and take care of him. No car? Take neighbours help and go to hospital in neighbour’s car along with his injured brother. Also, make sure you use “injured brother” this shows that your good in communication and more analytical.
  7. In this type of SRTs, be a good follower. You could say you would help the leader with your best ability and reach in time.
  8. As it says, next police station is 10 km, you are standing in front of a police station. Think cleverly.

SRT:

He was walking on a dark street with his girl friend then suddenly 10 armed people came & started harassing his girlfriend the next police station was 10km away. He..?

Operation Maitri ‪#‎NepalEarthquake‬ ‪#‎IndianArmyRescueReliefWork‬
The Defence Wing, Embassy of India, Kathmandu, Nepal, under the Defence Attache Col Man Raj Singh Mann, has been working round the clock since the earthquake struck on 25 Apr 15. A dedicated team of six officers, four JCOs and 35 OR have been working relentlessly at Kathmandu and Pokhra, to facilitate relief operations by the Indian Embassy, Indian Army, Indian Air Force and the NDRF. They have ensured flawless coordination and smooth conduct of relief and restoration operations to include coordination with the Nepalese Army and the Nepalese Government, induction of troops, food & relief material and provision of medical aid. They have been the ‘Backbone of Op Maitri’. Defence Wing personnel, despite themselves having suffered in this earthquake (as their families are residing in Kathmandu), were the first responders and have continued to give their undivided focus in the ongoing operations without care to their own personal requirements.Operation Maitri

GD At Screening Round of SSB

0
ssb screening gd

GD At Screening Round of SSB : This has been shared before that GD at SSB is primarily different from those happening at campuses for corporate jobs in college or at any other level. At Corporate GD people are interested to look for fit by few qualities while at SSB assessors look for 15 OLQ’s along with the psychological mindset of the candidate so one has to prepare accordingly. I have been hearing myths in and around the web space for GD so thought of addressing the same here on a common platform. The following myths came to my ear:

  • I spoke a lot in GD still I was not selected in screening.

  • I initiated and even my story was selected in the group still I could not make in other rounds.

  • There was a fish market situation and people were fighting and I controlled the group

  • People who were shouting were screened in while others were not taken

  • I did well in GD still not selected in screening.

ssb screening gdNow I will try to analyse certain things here to make things clear to my aspirants. First of All selection in screening is primarily based on many things and not on GD, but aspirants pay full emphasis on GD only. It depends on Individual narration, story quality also and then comes priority for GD, so there have been cases where aspirants who have good narration, and a wonderful story revealing qualities had been selected even though they could not get chance to speak a single word at GD because of fish market situation. The following ways are good pointers that can help you in GD at SSB and save you, thus moving you ahead in the next round:

  • Listening skill is a quality also and helps a lot in GD where the goal is for the conclusion so listen to each and every story carefully so that you have a lot of data to speak on.
  • Keeping a positive body language is a must to show the assessors that you are not afraid of any situation come whatever may be and you have the courage to face them boldly.
  • Listening to the rules of the GD as told by assessors carefully as at some point of time important instructions can be given.
  • Be calm while speaking and keep aggression aside as such things give a negative mark in GD.
  • There should be voice modulations in GD as monotonous tone does not suit the audience and they can lose interest.

Body language in such an exercise is very important and I would deal it in a separate article. Still If you have any confusion or feel to take individual assessment of personality for OLQ’s or prepare from your place itself through one to one interaction through my mentoring / counselling program drop me a mail at [email protected] or add me on Fb and drop in a message. Though screening is important but the importance should be paid towards the right direction of preparation as SSB is just about your personality and your life but your energy should be channelized properly. So work for your goal and stay away from myths.
