My Experience At SSMentors By Arcot Sai Dikshith

Hi all, I am Arcot Sai Dikshith from Hyderabad. The journey just began with the recommendation for the prestigious organization in the entire nation. Do you have it you. Yes, I have it in me. I am an engineering graduate and during my school/college days participated in N.C.C and basketball at national level. Since my childhood days my aim was to join Armed forces.

Tried the first attempt of getting into Armed forces with N.D.A but could not clear the written exam. On completion of my engineering, I started preparing for SSB and joined Cavaliers Academy in New Delhi but I was conference out. Then I did the introspection of my performance but could not make out the grey areas. Thereafter appeared in another SSB, gave the second interview at Varanasi and cleared my Pilot Aptitude Battery Test but again I was conference out. At Varanasi Air Force SSB. I came across a candidate who got recommended for ground duties after getting conference out for 3 times and got recommended in 4th attempt. Later the same candidate was recommended after 15 days from other board. As per him, this I could achieve because of excellent coaching imparted by Col Kataria, SSMENTORS.
PHOTO OF ARCOT SAI
He suggested me to go to SSMENTORS for coaching, but due to my official commitments, I could not go and went for SSB at Bangalore. This time I did lot of hard work and performed well but again I was conference out. After few days, I received another call up letter and this time I finally decided to go to Col Kataria, academy SSMENTORS .  Every day at SSMENTORS, I have got major to minor inputs about SSB that could clarify my concepts and doubts about selection process. I was able to figure out where I stand as regard to my strong/weak points and preparation. I would like to share that the way Col Kataria conducts his sessions, it’s amazing, firstly his batch strength has maximum of 10-12 candidates so that he can have one to one interaction with candidates as each candidate has different problem, secondly he does not force his views on you but refine your own capabilities in all techniques and lastly he conducts short and to the point session which put your preparation on right track and even after coaching you can remain in touch with him through mob or email or personally. With the knowledge I gained here and maintained continuous touch with him till the last day of SSB that helped me a lot and I finally got recommended from Bangalore the same place where I got conference out earlier
My suggestion to all defense aspirants is that one can achieve his dream only through effective planning, sheer practice, hard work and proper guidance/coaching. I recommend one must take coaching because a “TEACHER PLAYS A VITAL AND IMPORTANT ROLE IN STUDENTS SUCCESS”. All the achievements in my life have gurus. If I look back I think of my school teacher, basketball coach and SSB success- Colonel Kataria sir. My sincere thanks to all my teachers. All the best to all SSB aspirants, the success you get after failures will be sweeter than the one you get at first shot. The more the failures sweeter the success.

Tips To Crack GD On Screening Day

1
screening test ssb tips

During the first day schedule of SSB during screening the GD is the last assessment that happens. Prior to this there is aptitude test which tests the general thinking ability of an individual by giving 50 questions twice to attempt in two different booklets, for 30 minutes? After this test comes the second test of PPDT in which a hazy picture is shown and it is expected from the aspirant that they need to write the story developed around the plot of the hazy picture. This is a psychological assessment and here the OLQ’s must be revealed. I had posted the tips to attend this exercise earlier.  After this exercise there is a break and groups are formed for the GD round.

Tips To Crack GD On Screening Day

Once the GD starts it is expected that initially every member of the group will narrate their individual stories and then the group will discuss as a whole to come to a conclusion. The following points should be kept in mind while participating in this exercise:

  • Listen to the instructions carefully given by the assessors present in the room and try to follow all of them deliberately.
  • It’s not necessary to be a starter and then only you get selected. Try to initiate but don’t indulge in a fish market while initiating.
  • Don’t look at the assessors during the whole exercise. Just concentrate on the members while narrating or participating during group discussion.
  • Body language speaks more than what you speak. Posture, facial expressions, hand gestures and eye moment should be controlled as this forms an important part of evaluation.
    screening%2Btest%2Bssb%2Btips
  • You will not get many chances. Assuming this try to put your strong points forward in the very beginning, don’t dramatise the discussion and wait for other chances.
  • Allow everyone to speak and give chances to those who could not, this might add to your benefit.
  • Try to get into the discussion 2-3 times but this does not mean to get your chance you start fighting. Avoid fish market situation in a group.
  • Listen to others point also and make a mental note of all that so that during conclusion those points can be used.
  • Don’t try to emphasise on your story only, pick the best one and support it.
Clearing screening is essential as it’s a pass for entering the exam and reaching the second phase of examination. Do not take it lightly as maximum elimination is at this stage only. Prove yourself best at this stage of SSB so that you can move ahead with high marks as marks are collated at the merit stage. Hence don’t take any examination lightly and ensure your performance at its best in each round. Still you feel any doubt or need psychological assessment you can contact me on facebook, just send the request and drop the message. We will try to resolve it through mentoring.

Quick Tips For Clearing AFCAT Exam

4
Quick Tips For Clearing AFCAT Exam
AFCAT is a day or two away and this exam decides the future of thousands of aspirants who want to join the Indian Air Force. Clearing this hurdle only the successful aspirants would be called for SSB which itself is a battle. The written exam consists of about 100 questions which are chosen from diverse backgrounds to test general awareness, English, logical reasoning, aptitude etc.

The preparation for all these is needed as there are no fixed questions that come from the section and the average number of question varies every time the exam is conducted. Also the answers are needed to be filled on the OMR sheet specially designed for the purpose. At present the following tips can be useful:

  • Do not leave anything from syllabus and try to touch on the variety of topics.
  • English should be good enough to decipher what the question want to say. Also read the question carefully and then answer.
Quick Tips For Clearing AFCAT Exam
  • There are negative marks too for the wrong attempt, so be careful while attempting the questions and don’t just choose all to attempt.
  • Times management can be your keys to success so don’t waste too much time in a question, just try to regularise and if you get stuck just leave the question. This will help you to attempt more questions and score more.
  • When the result is declared the authorities declare a cut-off and all those scoring above it are only called for SSB.
  • Some latest magazines, daily newspaper reading can save you in the general knowledge section. Keep yourself updated through these tools.
  • If you are good at preparing note on tough topics that can be helpful now as it saves time and help in doing revision.
  • Number of candidates who are giving AFCAT is increasing by 15-20% in every exam which is a clear indication that more hard work needs to be put in as the competition is increasing
Few tips that could help during the exam day:
  • Keep the material like pencil, pen, admit card handy and don’t carry too much with you. No books needed on the day of exam because be assured if you have not read anything when you had sufficient time to prepare then that last moment study will definitely not help.
  • Enter the hall and occupy the position beforehand, settle down and feel calm
  • Do breathing exercise, sitting on the chair calmly; else the other people might get afraid of what has happened to you during the exam.
  • Follow the instructions given in the exam hall as supervisors are very strict there.
  • Never try to cheat, perform your best without thinking of the end result. Remember an officer can never cheat (“An Officer can fail many times but he wins only with right means”~~ Jayendra Pratap Singh), and you are sitting there for securing that position only.
Give your best without worrying about the end result and keep in mind the mistakes you make so that can be rectified immediately next time. Once you return do self analysis and note down the mistakes. Also start preparing for the SSB, don’t wait for the call letter as then only few days are left which are not sufficient. If you still have queries ping me on facebook or drop me a mail and let’s resolve in all your queries, help you in preparation through e- mentorship. All the best .

How to Do Well in Situation Reaction Test of SSB

1
ssb psychology test 1

This is a very special test of second day psychology round which tests the various aspirants for the normal happenings of the life and the situations that may arise suddenly in one’s life anytime. Situations given in the series are such that can anytime happen with anyone suddenly. You are provided with a booklet which has specially designed 60 questions. Each question depicts a situation and has a blank which needs to be filled by the taker of the exam as to what would be his/her reaction when such situation comes in the life.

The best formula to do such questions is to just write solution that you would opt for being a responsible citizen of the country. The following can help in attempting such questions:
  • Make a note of this that you cannot leave any situation unhandled but you have to provide a solution that is feasible by a human being not by a super hero.
  • Be realistic and practical with your answers
  • Be truthful and don’t try to fake as you are being tested at various places for the same quality or say that same quality should come out of your acts so never try to conceal anything.
  • Be brief in your solutions.
    ssb%2Bpsychology%2Btest%2B1
  • Also there might be some questions repeated to check consistency, just maintain that and don’t show different solutions at such places which gives the essence of fakeness.
  • Try to attempt as many questions as you want and don’t try to escape situations. That simply means you are thinking too much and responding by faking results
  • Read the situation properly before answering to understand the context of the place.
  • Quality of response matters not the quality but this does not give the freedom to think and write less. You score for more you right the answers rightly.
  • Your solutions and qualities might be discussed at conference by all the officers when they get together. So they should get the same person as it is when they go through the personality assessment.
  • Also it is suggested that you can refer books but should get your solutions assessed that whether they match your personality or not. Books only provide sample solutions.
  • Also answer for one individual might not be correct for one individual because you should remember that through these answers you have to prove your qualities what you actually have in you. So answers could be same but you should judge that you possess it or not.
    ssb%2Bpsychology%2Btest

Always keep trying and find a mentor who can help you individually to assess what you have and how it can be shown in front of assessors at SSB. Still if any query is bothering you, drop me a message on facebook and add me. We will try to resolve it together.
