Permanent Body Tattoos Rules

Permanent body tattoos are only permitted on inner face of forearm i.e. from inside of elbow to the wrist and on the reverse side of palm/ back (dorsal) side of hand. Permanent body tattoos on any other part of the body are not acceptable and candidates will be barred from further selection. Tribes with tattoos marks on the face or body as per their existing custom and traditions will be permitted on a case to case basis.

Eligibility of SSCW 13 Tech

Candidates as per notified streams in the notification for SSCW-13th Tech will only be eligible / accepted. Candidates claiming equivalency of streams with the notified streams will be permitted to attend SSB only on production of equivalency certificate from the AICTE.  Candidates with Graduation Degree of a foreign university are also eligible provided they should submit an Equivalency Certificate from Association of Indian Universities (AIU) stating that his qualification is equated with the Degree in corresponding field of an Indian University.

All desirous civilian candidates can obtain APPLICATION FORM, from EMPLOYMENT NEWSPAPER or download from www.indianarmy.gov.in and send it along with self addressed stamped envelope of 28 x12 cms size, two passport size photographs and postal stamps worth Rs.12/- (Rs. 25/- for J&K) affixed on envelop to their respective TA Group Headquarters as per the area.

Selection Procedure of Territorial Army 2014

 Civilian Candidates
  • Candidates whose applications forms are found correct will be called for screening, by a Preliminary Interview Board (PIB), at their respective TA Group Headquarters.
  • Candidates selected by PIB should provide brief BIO-DATA to include details about their employment with monthly income from all sources  at the time of documentation immediately after PIB.
  • Successful candidates will further undergo a Service Selection Board (SSB) and Medical Board for final selection.

NOTE: Candidate who passed written test of PIB are required to bring the following attested documents at the time of interview:

  • Certified copy of educational qualification certificates, all certificates and mark sheets beyond matric.
  • Latest physical fitness certificate from a registered MBBS Doctor.
  • Service certificate by candidates employed in Central Govt / Union Territory / State Govt / Semi Govt / Private Sector Authenticated by Head Office.
  • Self Employed candidates or having own Business are required to submit an Affidavit on Non-Judicial stamp paper value of Rs. 10/- duly attested by the Deputy Commissioner of the District / Gazetted Officer / Commissioned Officer stating nature of self-employment and income earned annually with the attested photocopy of the latest Income Tax Return filed by the applicant along with photocopy of the PAN Card.
  • Incomplete application will be rejected without intimation
For Ex Service Officers Only
  • Ex Service Officers of three services as a candidate should send their application alongwith enclosures as mentioned in application form direct to Addl Directorate General TA, Integrated HQ of MoD (Army), ‘L’ Block, New Delhi-01.
  • The candidates are screened by an Army HQ Selection Board (ASB) held at Addl Dte Gen TA, GS Branch, ‘L’ Block, Church Road, New Delhi which is followed by a Medical Board at New Delhi for successful candidates.

Job interviews are particularly tense, especially if the interview is for a dream which you have been building for a long long time. SSB is one such interview process. Since Armed Forces are one of the hottest career options amongst the youth of India so SSB Interviews have a lot of hopes, expectations, and heartbreaks associated with them. Armed forces have such a charm that we want to crack SSB and be a part of this dignified and glorified family at all costs. While some of us join the coaching’s, the rest of us spend day and night thinking and researching about how to pass this exam i.e. SSB of course.

A lot have been said and many tips have been given by a huge number of experts on passing SSB. I would like to give you just top ten tips on how to crack SSB and be success:

  1. Know yourself: Identify the real you, find out your own strengths and weakness, likes, dislikes, positive and negative points about yourself and what are you doing to turn the negatives into the positives. This process will need a real thought and good amount of time with a fair thought process.
  2. Brush up your knowledge: Be it about the current affairs or about your own subject (especially technical entries) brush up your knowledge about the world around you. This will include being updated on your family member’s jobs, positives, negatives as well.
  3. Find the reason why you want to join: The reasons must be real, valid and true. Don’t borrow others reasons. Give the honest and real answer when asked about why you want to come to the forces.
  4. Bring the changes deep down: Merely faking a good personality won’t bag you anything. Cultivate the officer like qualities from within; adapt them naturally in you instead of wearing them over. This will help you throughout your life whether you come to the forces or any job you land in.
  5. Heartbreaks are a strict no-no: Getting disheartened on your previous failures will only bring bad memories, learn from previous failed attempts at SSB. When you are not recommended it shouldn’t break your heart, everybody is good at something, try again and learn from previous experience. Girte hain shehsawar hi maidaane jung mein!
  6. Improve your communication skills: Communication skills help you a lot in SSB. Develop them by communicating and mixing within family and society.
  7. Be yourself: Mold your personality such that you have the OLQ’s inbuilt and cultivated, like adapting good habits of exercising and having a positive though process, so you don’t have to fake out anything in SSB. Be genuine in SSB and speak the truth.
  8. Difference between confidence and overconfidence: A lot of us are not able to judge the thin line between confidence and overconfidence. While it is important to be confident in SSB, because it’ll give you a strong personality, being over confident is uncalled for. You appear a boaster and rude when you are overconfident.
  9. Build strong but polite opinions: When you are asked about what’s going on in the world or about any social problem in GD or Interview, they are not interested in facts and figures, they really want your opinion backed up by facts. So have strong and firm opinions, but be polite enough to present them.
  10. Never say die: This is a quality of a real soldier, whenever you are struck in anything be it GT, Interview or anything else, never give up, keep trying and trying. Your will to fight matters more than win!

The golden tip at the end is that don’t nervous at all anytime. SSB’s are real fun, you’ll remember those 5-6 days your entire life so live them up, enjoy without taking tension. Being calm is the first step towards success!

  2. Fill the online registration form. Tips to assist in filling up fields have been provided as you highlight each field.
  3. Before clicking the Submit button it should be checked whether all the details entered in the form is correct as you will not be able to make any corrections after saving the record.
  4. After successful submission of the Application form candidates are to read the instructions on conduct of SSB and also print the Application form with the system generated application number from the download section on the status bar.

Golden tips of WAT word association test

WAT stands for word association test and it’s the 2nd Psychological test. This test contains 60 different words. Each word is shown through slides for 15 seconds which focuses mainly on candidate’s personality and practice. Candidates are supposed to make out positive sentences on each word shown in the slide. Candidate’s performance depends mainly on “personality” and practice. The time limit for this test is short so a candidate has a very little time to think which drives out the personality of a candidate in the test.

Golden tips to tackle WAT test

  • WAT helps psychologist to understand the real behaviour of the candidate under pressure.
  • WAT totally depends on how you react to words in your real life.
  • A better introspection will help you to know your real personality, your interests, your fears and your weaknesses. By knowing your weaknesses one can work on that and can change them in one’s strengths. It will help you in changing the image of a word in your mind {explained later}.
  • First of all look at the words carefully as it will be shown only for 15 seconds. If you’ll miss even a single word, you’ll miss the whole sequence.
  • As you’ll see the word your mind will form an idea, now it depends on your personality to make a positive idea or a negative idea.
  • Then write a sentence on the idea you have formed. Make sure your writing is legible.
  • There are no negative words, if you’ll look them with a positive approach. Words will work in your favour automatically.
  • Try to practice WAT at your home and make some response sheets. You’ll see the response will automatically will get better and better.
  • You must write at least 6-7 officers like qualities in 60 sentences.
  • Do not use too many sentence on defence forces.
  • Don’t write simple observations
  • Don’t write idioms, phrases, quotations, universal truths. They show lack of original thoughts.
  • Don’t use the word “I or Me” much.
  • Write sentences from human point of view.
Golden Tips for Word Association Test

How to write a positive sentence from a negative word

  • When your reaction to a negative word is positive, it will be easy for you to make a sentence from the word.
  • Form a positive idea from a negative word shown in the slide.
For example– DIE: – Now when we hear die, an image of death comes to our mind. It is natural but a little practice will help you to change the image out of your mind.
Sentence– Indian people are diehard fans of cricket.
Or 
Sentence-With Agni- V, Indian security system becomes a deadly combination.
  • Do not use readymade sentence. This will break the pattern of loop created by psychologist.
  • Practice writing negative words, it will help you in changing the image of those words in your mind.

  1. Sacrifice- A person with morals never sacrifice with his principles.
  2. Defeat – A winner defeat his weakness.
  3. Danger- Indian defence is always ready for dangerous situations.
  4. Risk- A winner always ready to take calculated risk.
  5. Worry- A fighter never worries about failures.
  6. War- Indian war of independence got tremendous support.
  7. Problem-Proper planning lead to a easy solution of the problem.
  8. Failure-failures are the foundation of success.
  9. Challange-challanges increase the abilities.
  10. Difficult-difficulties are solved by patience.
  11. Fear- winners bravely face his fear.
  12. Aggressive- A leader patiently deals with his team.
  13. Confusion-leaders have a clear vision.
  14. Weapon- weapon is used for protection.
  15. Hijack- commandos are trained for hijack.
From the examples, you can understand how to change the image of the word in your mind and if you’re able to change the image of negative words from your mind, then you’ll be able to tackle your WAT test easily.

The Right Time to Start SSB Preparations

What is the right time to start preparing for an SSB interview? This is a question which haunts in the mind of every SSB Aspirant at one or the other time. Well so this article will help you in choosing the right time for starting your SSB Preparations.

I have seen people who prepared for only a month succeeding and yet another class who have prepared for years and not made it. So as such there is no time to start the preparation, this is what you’ll think now. No but definitely there is a time. The earlier you start them the better. One more thing the quantity of time never matters for preparations, what matters is the quality of time you put in and how sincerely you are preparing.
The OLQ’s which are the most important aspect of SSB can’t be developed in a day. They can only be developed by putting in a good amount of quality time.

Observe-Analyze-Adopt

This is the mantra of getting success in SSB. You have to first observe the OLQ’s what they are and how many of them and in what extent they are present in your personality. You have to observe the Personality of an officer and compare yourself to his/her personality. Then comes the analysis part, now you have to analyze that what is the amount of OLQ’s which are missing in you, and you have to find out ways to develop them. Imagine yourself as an officer and then think what is missing in you. Then comes the adopting part. Adopt these OLQ’s in your personality.
So the right time to prepare for SSB is the time when you get to know what your aim is, the time when you decide that yes I have to be an Officer. Defence can’t be put as an option in career; you’ll get in only if you have made it the first priority. Making it the topmost priority in your life will always urge you to prepare well for it. Remember that even for a post of a very small private job there are a hundred more who are there to compete, hence in SSB there are always a lot more people who have put in all their efforts to get into it, so it is always the survival of the fittest.
You have to concentrate and prepare for SSB, from the day you decide what your aim is, i.e. Fauj. Give ample amount of time to know yourself, and analyze your positives’ and negative. Remember you can’t fake it in SSB so either you have the personality they want or you don’t.  It is important to become a kind of person who is suitable in reality instead of faking it. For eg if you are lazy and have a habit of getting up late then you must try to change and be lively and active, because if you are not and you are telling a lie in SSB that you are active and blah-blah then also you’ll be caught by the Interviewer or the Psychologist. So it’s better to be the desired kind of person instead of lying there

Developing a Wonderful Speaking Skill

Having a good speaking skill will help you a lot throughout your SSB as well as your whole life. An error free speech, with a good tone and a good pitch is not liked by whom? Speaking power will sail your boat thoroughly through the storm of Lecturette, GD, Interview Conference and a lot of more things very smoothly. Hence there are a lot many benefits of having a good speaking skill. Here are some things which are essential for a good speaking skill and you must keep these things in mind to have a winning speaking style.

Developing a Wonderful Speaking Skill

  • Watch Your Tone: Your tone that is the intensity of your voice plays a major role. If you are having a very loud voice then you may appear rude and if you are having a very timid voice then you might not be heard at all. Hence practice your tone well. You can ask any of your close one to listen you speaking and then tell you whether you are sounding okay, loud or weak.
  • Maintain Your Posture: While giving lecturette or interview or in GD your posture plays a very important role. If you are using too much of hand gestures then it may look very dramatic. Similarly your slouchy body will reflect your laziness and lack of confidence. If you get up from your chair while arguing in GD may reflect your non-adjustable nature. Hence maintain a firm and straight posture while speaking; this will automatically enhance your speech.
  • Go slow with the speed: While speaking it is very important that you go neither too slow nor very fast. Hence make it a habit to speak in a proper speed neither fast nor slow. To achieve this also you have to practice well before.
  • Eye-Contact: Maintaining an eye contact while speaking is very important. Imagine when somebody is speaking to you and looking somewhere else, how will you feel? Eye-contact reflects your confidence. Make it habit to speak looking directly into the eye of the listener.
  • Choice of word and content: Your choice of words should be appropriate and easy. If you are using too fancy words and nobody is able to understand they’ll lose interest. Similarly the content which you are speaking must also be appropriate and relevant. Like in GD or lecturette speak only on the thing you know well, speaking merely for the stake of speaking is not advisable. One more important thing is that if you are choosing any word to be included in what you are speaking, then be sure about the correct meaning of the word, especially in interview.
  • Smile: No it is not necessary to show all your 32 teeth while speaking that will look amusingly funny, but maintain a calm and smiling face is necessary. It will raise your level of confidence and also make you look good. Promise yourself to not frown even when the whole group is against you in GD and even when the Interviewer is banging you!

Benefits of having a good speaking skill

A good speaking skill will help you in tackling GD and Lecturette very confidently. This something which is in our hand and we can practice it well before, so if you are able to express yourself nicely then it’ll give you an advantage over others. In the interview also you’ll feel confident. The best way to improve your speech is to practice lecturette daily.

Aircraft Inventory of Indian Airforce

The Indian Air Force has aircraft and equipment of Russian (erstwhile Soviet Union), British, French, Israeli, U.S. and Indian origins with Russian aircraft dominating its inventory. HAL produces some of the Russian and British aircraft in India under license. The exact number of aircraft in service with the Indian Air Force cannot be determined with precision from open sources. Various reliable sources provide notably divergent estimates for a variety of high-visibility aircraft. Given below is the list of types of aircrafts used in the IAF.

Aircraft Inventory of Indian Airforce

Multi-role fighters and strike aircraft

IAF’s primary air superiority fighter with the additional capability to conduct air-ground (strike) missions is Sukhoi Su-30MKI. The IAF have placed an order for a total of 272 Su-30MKIs of which 170 are in service as of 2013.The Mikoyan MiG-29 known as Baaz (Hindi for Hawk) is a dedicated air superiority fighter and constitutes a second line of defence after the Sukhoi Su-30MKI. 66 MiG-29s are in service, all of which are currently being upgraded to the MiG-29UPG standard.The Dassault Mirage 2000, known as Vajra (Sanskrit for Thunderbolt) in Indian service, is the primary multirole fighter, the IAF currently operates 51 Mirage 2000Hs which are currently being upgraded to the Mirage 2000-5 MK2 standard. The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-21 serves as an Interceptor aircraft in the IAF. The IAF have phased out most of its MiG-21s and plans to keep only 125 that have been upgraded to MiG-21 Bison standard. These aircraft will be phased out between 2014 and 2017.The MiG-21s are planned to be replaced by the indigenously built HAL Tejas. Dassault Rafale Air superiority fighters will also be included in the fleet soon.
The SEPECAT Jaguar known as Shamsher and the Mikoyan MiG-27 known as Bahadur (Hindi for Valiant) serve as the IAF’s primary ground attack force.The IAF currently operates 139 Jaguars and over 100 MiG-27s. 

Tanker and transport aircrafts

The IAF currently operates 6 Ilyushin Il-78MKIs in the aerial refueling (tanker) role. For strategic military transport operations the IAF uses the Ilyushin Il-76 known as Gajraj (Hindi for King Elephant) in Indian service. The IAF currently operates 17 Il-76s, which are to be replaced by a number of C-17 Globemaster IIIs in the near future.
The C-130J of the IAF is used by special forces for combined Army-Air Force operations. There are currently 6 C-130Js in service.The Antonov An-32 known as Sutlej (name of an Indian river) serves as medium transport aircraft in the IAF. The aircraft is also used in bombing roles and para-dropping operations. The IAF currently operates 105 An-32s, all of which are being upgraded.The Dornier Do 228 serves as light transport aircraft in the IAF. The IAF also operates Boeing 737s and Embraer ECJ-135 Legacy aircrafts as VIP transports and passenger airliners for troops. The Hawker Siddeley HS 748 once formed the backbone of the IAF’s transport fleet, but are now used mainly for training and communication duties, a replacement is under consideration. 

Trainer aircrafts

The HAL HPT-32 Deepak is IAF’s basic flight training aircraft for cadets. The HPT-32 is to be phased out soon. The IAF uses the HAL HJT-16 Kiran MKI for intermediate flight training of cadets, while the HJT-16 Kiran MKII provides advanced flight and weapons training and also operated by the Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT) of the IAF. The Kiran is to be replaced by the HAL HJT-36 Sitara. The BAE Hawk Mk 132 serves as an advanced jet trainer in the IAF and is progressively replacing the Kiran MKII. The IAF has begun the process of converting the Surya Kiran display team to Hawks. A total of 106 BAE Hawk trainers have been ordered by the IAF of which 39 have entered service as of July 2010.
75 Pilatus PC-7 Mk-II (Swiss Origin) are being inducted in the IAF, out of them 18 have been received, they will act as basic Trainers. 

Helicopters

The HAL Dhruv serves primarily as a light utility helicopter in the IAF. In addition to transport and utility roles, newer Dhruvs are also used as attack helicopters. 4 Dhruvs are also operated by the Indian Air Force Sarang Helicopter Display Team.The HAL Chetak is a light utility helicopter and is used primarily for training, rescue and light transport roles in the IAF. The HAL Chetak is being gradually replaced by HAL Dhruv. The HAL Cheetah is a light utility helicopter used for high altitude operations. It is used for both transport and search-and-rescue missions in the IAF. The Mil Mi-8 and the Mil Mi-17 are operated by the IAF for medium utility roles. The Mi-8 is being progressively replaced by the Mi-17. The Mil Mi-26 serves as a heavy lift helicopter in the IAF. It can also be used to transport troops or as a flying ambulance. The IAF currently operates 4 Mi-26s. The Mil Mi-35 serves primarily as an attack helicopter in the IAF. The Mil Mi-35 can also act as a low-capacity troop transport.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles

The IAF currently uses the IAI Searcher II and IAI Heron for reconnaissance and surveillance purposes. The IAI Harpy serves as an Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle (UCAV) which is designed to attack radar systems. The IAF also operates the DRDO Lakshya which serves as realistic towed aerial sub-targets for live fire training.

Airborne early warning aircrafts

The IAF currently operates the EL/W-2090 Phalcon AEW&C. A total of 3 such systems are currently in service, with possible orders for 2 more.

CDS Exam 8 Important Theorems to Solve Circle Problems In Geometry

Friends geometry is very important topic for every CDS in mathematics section. In exam paper there are near 16 to 19 questions from this section. Whole geometry can’t be covered in single article, so here in this article I tried to put theorems related to circles in geometry.

1. Equal chords of circle subtends equal angle at center and vice versa. If AB =CD in figure then

2. Perpendicular from the center of the circle to a chord bisects the chord. If

3. There is one and only one circle passing through three non col linear points.
