In a substantial anti-narcotics operation, Assam Rifles, in coordination with the Special Narcotics Police Station and CID (Crime) of Mizoram, has successfully seized 20,000 methamphetamine tablets valued at approximately Rs 6.66 crores. The drugs, weighing a total of 1.908 kg, were confiscated on April 27, 2024, in the General Area Mualpuikawn, Salem Veng K-Section, Aizawl, Mizoram, where one suspect was also apprehended.

This operation is a part of Assam Rifles’ broader strategy to combat drug abuse and trafficking in India’s northeastern states. Over the past four years, Assam Rifles has made significant drug seizures totaling over ₹4,200 crore, with noteworthy captures each year from 2020 to 2023.

Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh – In a significant move to support veterans and Veer Naris, the Indian Army’s SpearCorps has inaugurated a new Veterans Seva Kendra (VSK) at the Sports Stadium in Pasighat on April 30, 2024.

The VSK is designed as a comprehensive facility to cater to the needs of veterans and Veer Naris. It offers a range of services including Aadhar authentication, recruitment opportunities, and access to the SPARSH pension management system.
