Cracked SSB Interview at SSB Kolkata To Join The Indian Navy

ssb interview experience 2021

HELLO FRIENDS, I’m DIVYESH RANDHEER (Chest no 7) got recommended from SSB KOLKATA for INDIAN NAVY as a GSX Cadre on 21Aug2021. First of all, I would like to give a warm greetings for all the aspirants who spend their valuable time in reading my story. Hope it helps you at any point.

ssb interview experience 2021

I Hail from Coimbatore, Tamilnadu. I never had a goal in my life till my 2nd year of my degree.  On a fine day, my college management invited an Ex-Navy officer to give a lecture on “Opportunities in Defence forces”. To be very honest I never knew about NDA till my 20. So it all started with the session where I eventually ended up to be trained by the gentlemen. He is an inspiration to all defence aspirants, not only aspirants but for all the citizens through his personality and service to the nation. For 2 years, I was trained for my personality the most rather than for SSB. With the huge opportunity provided to me there, I interacted with at least 20 officers & many Motivational fames before my 1st SSB. Before my third attempt, I took Coaching in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

I never traveled outside my state and knew any language except Tamil & English before 3March 2021 but before my recommendation, I knew 5Langauges {Tamil, Malayalam, English, Hindi, Telugu}. It went possible because of my exposures where I travelled through 17states in just 5months. It’s my Aspirant friends in Coimbatore & Bengaluru who helped me out in all tough times.

My SSB Experiences, {1R, 2CO, 1SO}.

1st SSB:  NSB Vishakhapatnam, INET 3 March 2021 Result: CO.

  • I was very much excited to be in the MCO. Little scary seeing the crowd as it was my first attempt but with a huge confidence.
  • 61 reported at the end of the day 15 got Screened in 11Freshers 4Repeaters. Story was syncing to the picture, Narrated boldly 4in the group accepted my story immediately. OIR 95%+ Accuracy attended all Questions.
  • I was so happy. But no time to express it. Was rushing to the room. Immediately filled PIQ. By 1500H, went back it took me 15 minutes to start my conversation with my group of 7. Because in my 1st attempt, my Hindi speaking is thooda Kham.
  • Psych went well but lot of strikes in writings. The huge mistake in my SSB. Never overwrite nor scribble. Neat, legible, clear writing is required.
  • GTO was the best part in my 1st SSB. I was called only once for Command task. Did 8 individual obstacles.
  • Interview went for 1H 45mins, I spoke where lengthy sentences.

2nd  SSB: 19 SSB Allahabad, 5 June 2021 TGC 133 Result: SO.

  • This time my OIR was average. Also I mismatched for 2 questions in my OMR sheet. My perception went weak because of which I was told next during narration in just 15secs.
  • Enjoyed Stay, food & Travel.

3rd SSB: 31 SSB Kapurthala, 5 Aug 2021 SSC TECH57 Result: CO.

  • Did my best OIR, Perceived & Narrated best. Out of 97, 20 got screened in 19Repeaters 1Screened out candidate.
  • My Psych was good. Interview was little stammered 1H 05mins it was. GTO was the best ever in my SSBs. 10 Individual obstacles.
  • Conference went for 15minutes then came the result, BATCH WASHED OUT.
  • Enjoyed visiting Golden temple twice. 100H of traveling time the longest ever for my SSB.

4th SSB: SSB KOL, 17 Aug 2021 INET Result: Recommended.

  • Stage 1 was a cake walk. Little scared in OIR1 because everyone wrote only 25-30 out of 45. I wrote 31 I that set. OIR wasn’t tough but time consuming.
  • Psych was written with a calm mind. Very clear psych it was compared to all my SSBs.
  • Heavy Rains in Kolkata so did individual obstacle in day 3 itself.
  • Not Complaining, but my group ignored me in all the tasks. I said this to interviewer too.
  • My interview was the last & went only for 15mins. I didn’t do well. But I didn’t lose confidence during the tasks.
  • Did only 5 individual obstacles, everything slippery.
  • Conference went for 25 minutes. I felt like my actual interview was there in conference.
  • I didn’t expect I will get recommended. They called 19 instead of 29. Hahahaha 29 is no one that’s me. Half the way of 19 they said sorry 19 it is 29 who got recommended. Not only was my group the most shocked to hear was me. I asked thrice the madam “mam is it really 29?”.
  • Happy endings.

I urge aspirants not to lose hope at any point. I have 150+ aspirant friends. Everyone is making their turn. Be confident and showcase who you are.

Myths broken in my story,

  • You can get recommended even when no one calls you in CT.
  • 5 Individual obstacles can also recommend you.
  • Despite a bad experience in my interviewer part, I spoke only truth. Told only truth NO LIES at all.

I was medically unfit, did DNS Surgery. Reduced 12kgs in 10days.

My next stop is 7 DEC at Bhopal for TGC134. Have an enthralling life friends.

JAI HIND.

What is Thematic Apperception Test

0
TAT Sample Picture

Thematic Apperception Test comes under the psychological test series. Thematic Apperception Test is conducted for all the candidates who have passed the screening test. In this test, the candidates are shown 12 different pictures, one after the other, and are expected to write stories relevant to the pictures.

Each picture is shown for about thirty seconds and thereafter, four minutes are given to write the stories relevant to that picture. The last picture is always a blank picture, on which you have to write any story of your own choice. However, the other stories must be purely based on the shown picture.

The picture can be perceived in many a ways, but the candidate has to remember that the story that he writes shows his personality and his thinking. The actions in your story that are done by the hero of your story, is actually thought as the actions that you will undertake in those conditions. For example, if the picture shows a site of an accident, you could write a how the hero of your story saw that and helped the injured and took appreciable actions.

Thematic Apperception Test

While writing the story, show that the hero of your story was brave, intelligent and took quick responses to the situations. Do not write stories showing that your main character was a superhero or possessed any magical powers. Your hero should be an average person with a positive attitude.

Your hero must show determination. For example, in a picture where you perceive a boy who failed in his exams, you can write how he overcame that situation by his hard work. Your hero should be of same age group and sex as you. Your story must have a practical and acceptable plot. Your hero must be shown as a leader of the group and should be able to control the activities of the group. He must be confident and ambitious in his life.

OIR Test eBook SSBCrack

Never write a story that may reflect that your hero is not a coward but a brave person who faces every situation with courage. It should not be shown that he got anything by luck or chance, but his hard work and determination have helped his achieve his goals. Your hero must not be impatient. He must always be polite and respectful to everyone. He must not show any lack of patriotism and nationalism. He should be a normal person, not any character from a fairytale.

Your story must not contain any anti-national of anti-social topic. You have to write a story of about 100 words, so do not be indulged in a complex issue as you may be out of time while writing about such situations. Do not show lethargy and try to write in your best possible hand-writing.

Thus, the qualities that your main character must contain are:

Intelligence, compassion, quick decision making skills, patriotism, courage, sense of responsibility, determination, social adaptive skills and high moral values. Whatever you write about your main character is how you will behave in your life. Your main character also reflects the qualities that you have or are trying to achieve.

Indian Military Academy Passing Out Parade 11 December 2021

Gen. Bipin Rawat was an extraordinary military leader, and his death creates a void that cannot be filled, said the President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind. He was speaking on the occasion of the review of the Passing Out Parade of the Indian Military Academy in Dehradun today (December 11, 2021).

The President said that we gathered here today when the nation is yet to come out of the shock of the untimely demise of Gen. Bipin Rawat, the Chief of Defence Staff. Uttarakhand was his home and he was trained at the Indian Military Academy. At the IMA, he was awarded the Sword of Honour for his exceptional skills. But for the tragedy, he would have been among us here today, looking at the passing-out parade with delight and pride for the cadets.

The President said that Gen. Rawat added to the glory of the IMA, which is an institution with an inspiring tradition. Before him, Field Marshal K.M. Cariappa, Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw and many other extraordinary warriors and strategists began their journey here as young cadets and potential leaders. Some of them laid down their lives for the safety and honour of our nation. He expressed confidence that the gentlemen cadets, who would shortly embark on their journey of a life characterised by valour and wisdom, would carry forward the rich legacy of this academy.

Congratulating the cadets on the successful completion of their training at the IMA, the President said that their service and dedication as soldiers and leaders of men shall add to the strength of a peaceful, independent and democratic India. He urged that, on this occasion, we should recall the iconic status acquired by one of the many illustrious alumni of the academy, General Bipin Rawat, who by dint of his hard work emerged as the role model of soldierly conduct for the future generation. The President expressed confidence that our flag shall always fly high because brave men like gentlemen cadets present here would preserve and protect its honour.

The President said that the challenges that our great nation faces today are defined by a complex security environment, at the regional and global level. The cadets must, therefore, keep in mind that physical and mental toughness alone would not equip them to tackle modern-day threats to the country. As military leaders, they would have to develop a strategic mindset, cultivate an adaptive temperament and acquire the mental resilience essential to hone the skills required for military leadership. They must be prepared to deal with the unexpected challenges that the profession of arms shall present before them at various junctures of their service.

The President was happy to see the gentlemen cadets from friendly foreign countries of Afghanistan, Bhutan, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Turkmenistan and Vietnam at the parade. He said that we cherish the special bond between our nations, and it is a matter of great pride for India to have such fine officers and gentlemen from friendly foreign countries graduating today. He expressed confidence that they would preserve the unique bond of friendship forged with their colleagues and instructors during their training at the IMA.
