5 Easy Steps to Improve Your English Speaking Skills
5 Easy Steps to Improve Your English Speaking Skills

SSB is the combination of tests that accesses the mental, physical and vocal performance of the candidates and matches all three of them. Communication skill matters a lot in SSB as personal interview and GTO has a significant role of communication. Well, it is seen that many candidates find it hard to speak in English that makes them hesitate to give out their views. So speaking in English leaves a good impact on the accessors and it also gives you a way to express your views in the group effectively and productively. So below are some points that will help you to improve your English speaking to a good level.

Slow Down Your Speaking Speed – First thing to do before learning to speak English effectively is to slow down your speaking speed, so that you will get sufficient time to think and make others understand what you want to say. Frequent speakers amalgamate words and gives a pungent sentence. So slow down your speaking speed and be calm while speaking.

Think Before You Speak – Before you start speaking something, think clearly of what you want to say and how will you represent your thought. This will keep your mind accelerate in speaking what you want to speak and you can easily express your thoughts and views. Keep your mind involved in processing thoughts into language.

Learn To Make Sentences – The more you learn to make sentences, the more you will get the fluency in speaking English. Don’t focus on words, rather focus on the pattern of sentence. Reading books, newspapers, magazines and periodicals will improve your sentence making capability. Listen to the English conversations on T.V., movies and other related media.

Listening Is A Complimentary Activity – Listen to the opposite speaker carefully so that you can get the though and the meaning of his sentence. Ones you get the meaning of the sentence of the opposite speaker, then only you will be able to reply in a significant manner. And a better reply is given when you listen to the speaker carefully.

Practice More – Practicing is the only alternate to bring your skills up. The more you practice, the more you will get the pace of speaking. The more you speak the more you will be able to catch the fluency. To practice, try to answer the interrogative questions, as these will give you enough chance to give out your thoughts in a meaningful manner.

Conclusion – Communication is the crucial part of your personality and a better communication makes your personality better. Speaking in English is a hurdle for many candidates and it reduces the chances of many deserving candidates in SSB. The interview entirely depends on your effective communication and GTO depends on your actions coordinated by your communication. So it will be good to practice and improve your English speaking and escalate your selection chances. But before you go for improvement, introspect yourself and follow as per the requirement.

Top Milestones by DRDO 2016

Arms manufacturing has reached to a new height this year. Several new private firms are getting into the manufacturing field and government owed firms have also given some remarkable weapons and arms to the Armed Forces. Make in India initiative has left a deep impact over the defence field.

DRDO has been listed on the top of several arms manufacturing firms. It has been in the arms manufacturing for many years and has given some of the best arms to Indian Armed Forces. DRDO has given some best arms this year, which are as follows.

  1. NAG Anti-Tank Missile – The missile is manufactured by DRDO under Integrated Guided Missile Development Programme. The missile cleared final developmental trails in Indian army and has been sent for mass manufacturing. The missile can be fired from its carrier or Dhruv or LCA helicopter. The range of the missile is 4 kms on land and up to 10 kms in the air version.
  2. Varunastra Torpedo – Another hit by the DRDO, it is manufactured for the Indian navy. It is an anti-submarine torpedo, which can run at a speed of 40 knots having operational range of 40kms. Varunastra Torpedo is inducted in the Indian navy in June this year, having 95% indigenous material. It can be fired form Rajput and Delhi class destroyers and all future destroyers.
  3. HAL Tejas – HAL Tejas is also named as Light Combat Aircraft. It is manufactured jointly by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited and ADA, which is a branch of DRDO. The project of aircraft manufacturing was initiated in 1980s, but the delay extended the project. The aircraft can carry out many functions and a squadron of it has been inducted in the Indian Air Force.
  4. MRSAM – Medium Range Surface to Air Missile is the missile made by a joint venture of the India and Israel and is expected to enter the services in 2017. The missile was successfully tested in June 2016. The main aim of the manufacturing the missile is to avert all kinds of incoming Arial threats in the medium range.
  5. BARAK -8 – A joint project of Israel Aeronautics Industries and DRDO manufactured Long Range Surface to Air Missile. The missile is capable of targeting and destroying aircrafts, UAVs, anti-ship missiles and cruise missiles. The missile has a flight ceiling of 16 kms and can attain a speed of 2 mach. The trails of the missile have been reported to be completed in December this year.
  6. Rustom 2 – UAV Rustam II is the enhanced version of the Rustam UAV. It is Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) UAV produced by DRDO. It has a range of 1000 kms and can attain a speed of the 225 kmph. It has endurance time of 24 hours and can perform surveillance operation along with carrying weapons on the flight.

Conclusion

This year was very crucial for the technology enhancement, digitisation and modernisation. Apart from DRDO, many other firms have given their best in manufacturing arms. ISRO, HAL etc. have raised the name of India on international platform for releasing some of the best technologies. Recommended In 1st Attempt For Indian Airforce (Flying)

0
indian airforce recommended

Yes! Today got in final merit list of Air Force. Finally the day with the accomplishment of my childhood dream to be a pilot in Indian Air Force(though it was of fighter pilot) is here & the day I have been waiting since past 5 months after getting recommended from 2 AFSB Mysore on 23rd July & clearing medicals in the first week of august for flying as well.

When I cleared the cutoff of AFCAT & was searching for the institute for SSB in Delhi as I belong to here. Some of my friends & even a friend of mine who is an Army officer strongly suggested me OLIVE GREENS. I was confused if I should join here in Delhi coz it will be easy for me to stay n attend or go in other state & join OLIVE GREENS. But then I decided to go to Olive Greens & no doubt I took the best decision I can have.

I had only one month before my AFSB, though I was unaware of the whole SSB/AFSB procedure & my biggest problem was to face a crowd & speak in front of a gathering. I remember my first day in Olive Greens & I couldn’t even speak 2 lines in PPDT discussion. But the days passed & by the end of the day I was confident enough to speak up without any fear & was doing good in discussions & lecturette.

Here you are not been coached rather you are been trained for the life & indulge those qualities in you. The way of teaching I got here in Olive Greens was different, I could able to introspect myself & was able to find those faults & was able to work on my overall personality. The person today I am is a totally different one I used to be before getting into this institute. It changed my way of thinking which definitely helped going through Psychology tests in AFSB & I was able to do soo well in AFSB that I completed 12/12 TAT, 60/60 WAT & 60/60 SRT way before the time was over.AFSB Interview Candidates

My AFCAT score was 134, yes you read that right just 134, only 2 marks more than the cutoff. I was soo tensed & nervous after getting recommended that dunno if I’ll be able to make it to the final merit list or not. That fear of losing my dream even after reaching soo close to it, that nervousness, that self-humiliation that If I could have scored little more. It haunted me day & night for 5 months till today. But as it says, ‘There is a brighter day after the darkest night’. So this is the day for me.

This was only possible by the guidance of the whole staff of OLIVE GREENS, I owe this to the institute. I can’t even express my feelings right now, words will end but feelings won’t. The name & tag of being OGian will always be in my heart even when I’ll be flying an aircraft at such height. I’ll always remember that Olive Greens helped me to reach here in this cockpit.

Story of Operation Timber Trail Rescue of October 1992 [In Original Pics]

1

Near Parwanoo, 35 km from Chandigarh on the Shimla highway lay a mountain resort by the name Timber Trail standing at a height of about 2,000 ft.

The main attraction at the resort is the ride in a cable car to a hotel, Timber Heights at 5,000 ft (3,000 ft above the Trail) on a mountain top 1.8 km away. It takes approx. 8 minutes for the cable car to cover the 1.8 km distance and reach the mountain top.

But the excitement of the 10 passengers on car ‘B’ came to a halt when it all happened in a flash. They all hurled against the cable car when its cable broke loose. As the trolley accelerated to about 280 kmph, the overhead pulley wheels gave way, emitting fumes and fire. The frightened passengers, including a four-and-a-half-year-old child, were tossed around. And then, with a jerk, the car swung wildly before coming to a stop.

The 7-ft high hexagon-shaped car would have smashed the base to smithereens. But it got suspended in mid-air. Beneath was a clean drop of over 3,000 ft into the rocky Kaushalya rivulet.

The car included a family of 4 and 3 couples including a newly-wed one. That whole night, the 10 tourists remained suspended between life and death.

Meanwhile, at 6 p.m., the hotel management approached the army brigade at Kasauli, 30 km away, for help. The army immediately swung into action. By late evening, the 152-helicopter unit based at Sarsawa in Uttar Pradesh had been alerted, so too the 1 para commando unit at Nahan, Himachal Pradesh. Meanwhile, the engineers’ unit at Chandimandir assessed the ground realities at the cable car site.

The MoD conveyed its sanction on the telephone the next morning. A Cheetah helicopter from Sarsawa reached at 8.30, while a para-commando, Maj Ivan Joseph Crasto arrived from Nahan.

Gp Capt Fali Homi Major and his unit got the message about the evacuation operation late in evening on October 13. The instructions were to mount rescue operations from Chandi Mandir the following day at 7 am. The  Mi-17 V5 choppers could not be airborne till 8.16 am as there was a fog in the area. It was all Visual Flight Rules. Just FYI, here’s how a Mi-17 V5 chopper looks like this:

Mi17-V5
Mi17-V5

Out of the three techniques shortlisted, the best one chosen was to lower the commando into the trolley and then winch the trapped persons up by a helicopter.

Group Captain F.H. Major in a Cheetah, along with his crew and the commandos, conducted a reconnaissance of the area from 11 a.m. onwards. First Cheetahs and Chetaks were tried and later Mi-17 was brought in because of their larger winching units. The young ace flyer, Ft Lt P Upadhyay with Group Captain Fali Homi Major in 1992, carried out the sortie turn by turn. He flew the maximum sorties himself allowing Major Crasto to slither down 110 ft or more to land in the stranded cable car. This was the scenethen:

Timber Trail
People being lifted out of the stuck cable car. Notice the cables running parallel being very risky for the pilot to hover over it.

The 28-year-old Crasto, who had done a training stint in the Soviet Union, had just returned from Goa after attending his mother’s funeral. His arrival immediately raised hopes of the rescue operation succeeding. But the rescue operation was delayed due to the danger to the helicopter’s rotors from the other rope track running parallel. Tools to lower the rope track were not available.

With this, five of the 10 persons had been lifted out.

The five who remained in the trolley were crestfallen. Crasto volunteered to stay in the cable car to boost their spirits. “I have two kids at home and the fact that I am staying on means there is nothing to worry,” he comforted them.

The next morning-October 15- after the first sortie, another Mi-17 had to be requisitioned due to a mechanical fault. By 10 a.m. the daring Operation Timber Trail was over with the gutsy Crasto being the last to be winched up.

Flight Lieutenant P Upadhyay said with relief: “It was the toughest rescue operation I’ve carried out. The wires were so close to the chopper.” Major Ivan Joseph Crasto (later Colonel, retd), the hero of ‘Timber Trail Rescue’, was awarded the Kirti Chakra and Group Capt. (later Air Chief Marshal) F.H. Major of the 152 Helicopter Unit (HU), IAF the Shaurya Chakra and Ft Lt P Upadhyay was awarded the Vayu Sena Medal.

This operation is very much unique in its own where a Hindu lady in the car, praying to her Hindu god was saved by a Christian para commando (Maj Ivan Joseph Crasto) into a chopper flown by a Parsi pilot (Gp Capt FH Major). This is India and Indian Military for you, peeps.

Best Speech On Kashmir By Major Gaurav Arya Will Give You Goosebumps

1
major gaurav arya tedx

Soldiers are fairly uncomplicated human beings. When you are in the business of killing and dying, having over evolved motions just speeds up the process. They like to keep it simple.
They think of themselves as defenders; defenders of the people and the land. Their entire worldview of Kashmir has evolved through this narrative.

None other but the brave, the fighter and the justice seeker. Major Gaurav served the Indian Army from 1993-1999 and is currently the President of the Smart Group in New Delhi. He vividly writes on Kashmir, Af-Pak, Pakistan and it’s “deep-state”, role of social media in influencing public opinion and national security.

This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.

Nuclear Capable Nirbhay Missile’s Test Firing of Yesterday An “Utter Failure”

0
nirbhay featured

India test fired Long range nuclear-capable subsonic cruise missile Nirbhay from the launch complex 3 of the Integrated Missile Test Range in Balasore, Odisha.

It was the fourth test of Nirbhay missile so far and out of four, three have ended in failure. The maiden launch was conducted in March 2013 but it was a failure, the second test was conducted in October 2014 was a big success as it had travelled 1,010 km instead of the targeted 800 km. The third mission on October 16, 2015, was again a failure. And the fourth test of yesterday again turns out to be “utter failure”.

Nirbhay
Components of Nirbhay

The DRDO sources called the mission “an utter failure” because the missile started veering towards one side in the “initial phase” of the flight itself. They said, “It is a big failure. We should have a thorough re-look at what has been done so far. Out of four Nirbhay missions, three have ended in failure.”

The missile started flying beyond the safety corridor and threatened to fall on the land. So the “destruct” mechanism in its first stage was activated and the missile was destroyed.

However, any problem with the missile’s configuration has been ruled out. The test was rather “a hardware failure” that led to the mission being aborted. “This is a hardware element issue. This is a reliability issue with a component,” they explained.

A successful Nirbhay mission would have lasted for more than an hour. In a normal mission, the contraption will take off vertically like a missile, then a mechanism in its first stage will tilt the missile horizontally and the first stage, with its booster engine, will jettison into the sea. Then the second stage with the turbo engine will start cruising horizontally like an aircraft with its wings spread out at a subsonic speed of 0.7 Mach.

nirbhaya

But during this test, the booster engine in Nirbhay’s first stage started working. The missile lifted off from its launcher. But it started veering dangerously towards one side in less than two minutes of its lift-off

The missile can take out targets 1,000 km away and can carry a 300 kg warhead.

With 4th test too ending in failure, Nirbhay missile will impact future alternation of the missile which was planned for other service wings of the armed forces – Navy and the Air Force.

But with all these tests resulting in failure, why would India need a subsonic missile like Nirbhay when it still operates supersonic BrahMos?

Well, the answer is simple. A subsonic missile travels vastly slower than a supersonic missile. Therefore, it’d take much longer to reach a target. And the efficient engine it has, compared to the supersonic missile would allow it to ‘loiter’ over a target area. In other words, once the missile is overhead and is put on a “loiter” pattern, the government can make a decision as to whether a strike still needs to be carried out or not. If they choose not to, the missile can be safely self-destructed well above the target. Also, you do not need as much fuel and therefore as much weight to strike the intended target. This means that a sub-sonic missile can either travel much farther than a supersonic one or carry more ordnance.

How I Cleared Indian Army Campus Interview UES 27

0
Indian army campus interview

(Some background- was a cadet at NDA in 2014 for 2 weeks. Resigned due to disillusionment at the time and the thoughts of doing the same thing for 4 years when the same uniform can be had in one year of training after grad. Nothing against NDA. Love the place. My batch mates who persevered are better men than me. Regretted my decision to some extent afterwards, but informed about it while applying for UES)

(No tech questions asked by any officer)

I had already been processed for documentation in November end at the same venue. Therefore, I got some respite to sit back and prepare mentally. While in the hall, it was a long wait as the process started about 2 hours late. The reporting time was 10 am and I was there at 9:25 am. But the officers allowed some more time taking into account the difficulties of a morning schedule and traffic.

Talked to some of my fellow candidates and we became friends and chatted upon various issues. Had some informal interaction with the NCOs who came along. They were mostly jovial and helped out where they could. They asked us to be confident and respectful and let fear out of our minds and our words. They told us to be relaxed and give our best in front of the interviewing board.

12:15 (afternoon). Outside the interview chamber. Tried to stop my legs from shaking. To no avail. Gave in. Hoped they would remain firm when I walked in. Waited quite a while.

12:45 The NCO orderly opened the gate and I walked in confidently with my document folder in hand. Quickly scanned the room. It was very much like my SSB conference board with the only difference of being in a smaller room with fewer officers. Three officers and a Defense Engineer Officer (DEO) (civilian) looked at me. The Captain (junior-most officer) was taking minutes of the event. Interview board consisted of the other three. Presiding officer sat in the center, flanked by Defense Engineer officer on his right and a Lt. Col. (LC) on his left.  Wished the PO (Presiding Officer) (Good afternoon, sir). Instantly, I regretted not wishing the others. But kept the reactions clamped to myself and stood at ease before them with a smile.

PO: Good afternoon, Mrinal. How are you?

Me:  I am well, sir. Thank you.

PO: Great, have a seat then.

Me: Sure, sir. (Sat on a chair) Would you like to have my documents, sir?

PO: No, keep it. Just tell us yourself what you have in there. We will rather listen to you than read some boring documents.

Me: Definitely sir. So as I take it, I should introduce myself with details then. (SMILING mischievously)

PO: Yes. If you are comfortable with such a format. (Smiling)

Me: I am Mrinal, currently in 3rd year CSE at NSEC under MAKAUT. The first interesting thing about me is that I was born on 29.02.1996. So you see I have the luck of being born on a leap day. That is a unique thing about myself which is rare in the demography.

PO: So, is it good luck or bad luck?

Me: Well, sir, it is one way or the other but never quite the same. Good luck when I have to put it forward as an interesting detail. Bad luck when I have to treat my friends on 28th Feb in the non-leap year scenario and then again on 29th Feb in leap years. Saves me no money, you see.

PO: Oh, you are trapped young man. (Everyone laughs)

(Moving on, I talked about my parents, siblings, sports and hobbies. Got drilled upon having to study in a school where my father was the principal. Told them, they are welcome to try it as I got more punishments than others, what with my old man being a strict guy. That satisfied them and gave me some leeway. Told them that I used to play badminton till school level but now, I am more of a long distance runner.)

PO: So, did you participate in this marathon (Tata steel) yesterday?

Me: No sir. I can’t. Because the marathon route is far away from my place and happens early in the morning as it should. But it is hard to find conveyance that early in the morning. Moreover, I don’t participate competitively, rather I do it for my own fitness, in preparation of an army lifestyle as well as an easy way to shut out bad thoughts and as a means of personal therapy stemmed from physical rigor. It helps me to sort out my thoughts and make some strategy about the personal and professional aspects of my life. It is like listening to music in the background and planning an operation with the beats giving you the tempo and the rhythm directing your thoughts.

(Thank god, I drove to Howrah yesterday. That is how I came to know of the marathon. Due to google maps! While navigating, no less)

PO: Very nice. I am glad that you are using your sport as your mental outlet.

Me: (moving on to hobbies) Thanks sir. Apart from that, I love to read books (mentioned a few recent reads). I also love to speak publicly. And I do it competitively. Debates, elocutions and extempore. I have been through it all.

LC (Lt. Col.): So, Mr. Orator, why don’t you give me points in for as well as against the topic in 60 seconds for the headline “Gay Marriage in India”?

Me: Yes, sir. For: LGBT cases are not based on a conscious choice. Rather, it is more to do with hormonal secretions, mental aptitudes as well as biological development of the person. We can venture to say that an LGBT person has no say in his/her orientation. So, I don’t see any reason why they should be harassed. As long as they do what they want to with decency and maintain their existence with privacy and appropriate public dignity, it is no one’s business to question their lives. Against: In India, we are a conservative and orthodox society, mostly. We have not been able to equalize the two prominent genders, the men and the women. So is it not a bit too much to expect right for LGBT people? I think we should allow the people some time to gradually change their outlook instead of forcing such a drastic societal change upon them. The revolution should come but with some order and not anarchy.

LC: Great, I see you are a damn good orator for real.

Me: Thanks, sir.

DEO: So, Mrinal, any thoughts on demonetization by Mr. Modi?

Me: Yes sir. It is a progressive step and so I support it. It would help our authorities nab the corrupt and flush out black money.

DEO: What about the inconvenience it has caused to people?

Me: Well, in my view, fighting for Kashmir can also be termed as inconvenience. So, we should hand it over to Pakistan once and for all and be done with it. Why do we let our army fight and die for us? Sir, to tell you the truth, all this talk of inconvenience is just bad politics. A nation cannot live on its knees. It won’t survive on its knees i.e. weak leadership and soft decisions to cushion the public are not going to do any favors. Let me tell you a story. In China, guy called Mao Tse Tung embarked upon industrialization and 30 million people died in the process. China got independence later than us but managed to become a larger economy. That is what taking hard decision means and whoever takes the risk shall reap the benefits. In contrast, think of Hitler who killed 5 million Jews and is called a great villain in history. But this guy Mao is a hero in China. So, as I see it sir, Mr. Modi is not playing vote bank politics and is not afraid to hurt the public in order to establish a progressive country. He is doing it for the greater good. Few people die of natural causes and we let the other 1 billion get screwed by corrupt idiots? That is not the answer. The PM is not afraid of losing his mandate and if he is such a bad guy and has hurt the people, he will face their ire in 2019 and he knows it. Meanwhile, the march to progress shall be relentless.

DEO: Is India ready for a cashless society?

Me: No sir. But that is the responsibility of citizens as well as the govt. If poorer sections can own a smartphone, they better learn to use it too. If downloading Candy Crush is not a learning constraint, I don’t see why the same people can’t move on to Internet banking, electronic transfers and online wallets like PayTM as well as initiatives like UPI.

DEO: Great. Now, what is better, bullet trains or better train services?

Me: Better train services, sir. We need good quality services and a comfortable work and rest environment is more desirable when compared to an efficient system. Clean and calming work environment will lead to efficiency rise and not the other way round.

PO: Something else about yourself?

Me: (narrated the whole NDA incident) I wanted to move on with life sir. No use stuck over same routine for a singular experience. We should all explore a bit more.

PO: But you are stuck, right? Army then, and army now? What has changed?

Me: I moved on with life, sir. Doesn’t mean I changed my goals. My priorities are the same and my job preference is the same. I am not interested in money. It is all about donning the olive green for me.

PO: Well said, my boy. Kindly tell us some of your negative points. (I finally knew he was convinced. I was serious about this and he knew it)

Me (with a sheepish smile): Sir, I over eat as I adore food and confess to being a foodie. And I swear a lot. I have a filthy tongue.

PO (laughing): So what made you realize that?

Me: Actually, I was watching this movie Malcolm X where it said that people who do not have words to express themselves use bad language to vent their frustration. And being a public speaker, I take great offence if I do not have words. For words are what I deal in. In this manner, I realized my fault and now whenever, I am about to cuss, I simply shut up and calm down by counting to 10 in my mind.

PO: I am glad you have worked on your issues.

LC: You are a frank, young, dynamic and bold person. Does that also make you temperamental?

Me: Yes sir. You caught me. That is a flaw to some extent in my otherwise calm persona. Being a debater, if someone calls out my flaws with good facts and arguments, I will bow down. But if someone (who has no business saying things to me because he/she is not at the same level or does not have any experience in certain matters) comes to argue with me without facts and without any respect for my views, I will tear his world down my words and have a verbal duel without any restraint. The thing is I am all for a good chat, but it should be mutually respectful. If you are about to criticize me for my views, you better do it properly and with some intellect. Otherwise, I am not to blame for the loopholes in your logic or your shortcomings as an incomplete but argumentative Indian.

PO: So, you will be giving SSB again as a repeater. Does that give you an advantage?

Me: No sir. I am not afraid of this board or this process. I was not afraid the first time. Why? Because I love talking to people and expressing myself. My good qualities and bad qualities are my own and I stand by them. So, other candidates can be scared but not me. For me, it is reward enough to be able to chat with officers like yourselves and I love it even more as it helps to enhance my skills as an orator.

PO: Lovely, young man. Thank you. That will be all.

Me: Thanks sir. Have a good day.

(Shook hands with everyone and departed with a smile on lips)

Met with the Lt. Col while results were being prepared and had a good chat during this break. He kept calling me Mr. Orator throughout. Had an inkling that I would be hearing some good news.

Got the results after a few minutes. Qualified (with highest marks amongst 4 selected candidates). Again called out by LC as Mr. Orator and not by my name made me really happy while walking towards the stage. Got the provisional letter. Done.

Why SSB Is A Different Interview Technique

SSB is the interview technique that is framed to access the entire personality of the candidate. It is always suggested to every emerging aspirant to appear in SSB interview ones in his lifetime in order to experience and check your calibre and know how to be a perfect man. SSB conducts the interview, which is always termed as different from other interview techniques that always attracts several aspiring youth.

Several Armed Forces aspirants appear in the SSB by either qualifying competitive exam or by direct entries. There are some differences between the normal interview schedule and SSB. These differences will make you aware of why Armed Forces select the best amongst the crowds.

  1. The Longest Interview Schedule – The interview schedule of the SSB interview is minimum 5 days (including screening) that makes it different and above all. Other interviews of government authorities or private firms last for a day or two. But SSB analyses the entire personality of the candidate in a schedule of 5 days and sums up the qualities of the candidates.
  2. Checks The Entire Personality Of The Candidate – The SSB interview checks the candidate’s mentality, actions and skills to eradicate all chances of misinterpretations. The entire theory of the SSB resides on the philosophy of “Mansa, Vachna and Karma”. The board call for the genuine.
  3. Gives You Unmatched Experience And Facilities – The facilities and experience of interacting with other candidates and performing activities like an officer are only provided in the SSB interview schedule. The SSB not only examines the personality of the candidates, but also gives a lifetime experience and knowledge to the aspirants.
  4. Productive Competition Level – The competition level in SSB is very productive and high level as compared to the competition observed in other interviews. A candidate faces competition to a good level in SSB, which is rarely found in other interviews.
  5. Gives You The Guarantee Of Adventurous Life Ahead – The SSB recommends the candidates to lead the soldiers and secure the nations. The officers have to perform diverse duties and have to go through various daily duties which is not seen in other jobs. Those who don’t want a desk job has to the turn toward SSB and get yourself into the Armed Forces.

Conclusion:

The Armed Forces is not just a profession, it is a way of life. The level of experience and dare in the Armed Forces is incomparable. The youth has to opt Armed Forces as a good profession opportunity and let their talent get into the use of the nation. The youth must appear and attend the SSB and learn the difference between other jobs and Armed Forces.

SSB is not just an interview opportunity, but teaches a lot and gives a chance to a person to learn the shortcomings of the candidates. The above points will make you clear about why a person should attend the SSB and what he can learn from the SSB schedule. So all aspirants, work hard, prepare well and make it a life time achievement.

For the First Time, NSG To March in the 2017 Republic Day Parade

For the first time, National Security Guard (NSG) commandos may march down the Rajpath in full armed gear during the Republic Day celebrations on January 26.

Following this, the National Security Guard (NSG) headquarters has begun preparations to choose a contingent of about 60 commandos to showcase its prowess and commando-style fast march past.

This would be the first time when the federal contingency force would participate in the Republic Day events by marching down Rajpath. The first clearances have been issued and hopefully, the NSG contingent will march.

Till now, the troops of Army’s Para Special Forces were the only commando force to take part in the Rajpath during the January 26 celebrations.

Once at Rajpath, the ‘black cats’ will reflect a dashing sheen to the parade as they will be dressed in their trademark black overalls, balaclava headgear and special assault rifles MP-5 along with the iconic commando dagger.

The NSG contingent is expected to include commands from both the army and paramilitary-based units of the force, stationed at their garrison in Manesar near here.

Apart from NSG, CRPF’s anti-riot unit, Rapid Action Force, is also likely to be part of January 26 event where Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al-Nahyan, will be the chief guest.

However, it is expected that like last year, some regular paramilitary contingents may not be included this time too.

While the iconic BSF camel and band contingent has been given a go-ahead for inclusion in the parade that straddles down from the citadel of power at Raisina hills to the 17th century-built monument Red Fort, the contingent of border guarding Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) may miss the show.

While the CRPF’s special anti-riot unit RAF and Central Industrial Security Force contingents have been included, the inclusion of Indo-Tibetan Border Polices’ squad is still uncertain and SSB may be a no show.

The NSG, raised in 1984, is the federal force to undertake counter-terror and counter-hijack operations across the country and till now it was associated with the Republic Day celebrations by way of providing its crack teams for special combat deployment around the parade route and sanitising it by the deployment of snipers.

About 300 NSG commandoes were deployed to neutralise terrorists in the Pathankot airbase this January. They were also effectively used during the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack in 2008.
