Recommended For Indian Navy Technical Entry In 4th Attempt

Hello everyone my name is Aman Pandey. I thought to share my experience of getting recommended for 10+2 B.Tech entry Navy. “RECOMMENDATION FROM SSB”- My Biggest Dream came true in Naval Selection Board Visakhapatnam. After 3 failures in SSB finally, I was recommended in my 4th attempt.

DAY 1-Screening
We were done with the OIRT. I was able to do all questions except 3-4 very tricky ones. Now the PPDT started. The picture flashed and we wrote down our respective stories.
Now the Discussion Test started. I gave very confident narration of my story. During the discussion everything was like FISH MARKET. I tried calming them down but no one listened to me, then i decided not to take part in encouraging this fish market. I kept quite. As a result of all of these our discussion was not healthy.
Here comes the time of RESULT of 1st day!

To crack SSB interview,  recommend you to get “Let’s Crack SSB Interview” book from Amazon.
I was chest no 23 initially. The result was being announced chest no wise. 1..2..3…(in ascending order). after announcing few chest nos the officer said “OK GENTLEMEN THAT’S ALL FOR TODAY,YOU MAY LEAVE.” The officer who was announcing the result did not shout my chest no! i was disappointed with myself.
then the officer said “WAIT!! ONE IS LEFT!!………..” (after pause of 3-4 seconds he said) “chest no 23!”
oh god! this moment was breathtaking for me!
finally i was screened in. we were allotted new chest nos.Recommended For Indian Navy Technical Entry In 4th Attempt

IMPORTANT POINTS:
1)Attempt every question in OIRT
2)Be as natural as you can while doing anything.
3)While writing story in PPDT show actions. Like if your hero has done something show how has he done it? What all preparations he did.
4)Introduce your character in narration properly.
5)Be confident while narration and GD.

DAY 2-Psychology Testing
I completed
12/12 TATs
54/60 WATs
60/60 SRTs
Full SD
Now my interview was scheduled that day only. I was dressed well with nicely ironed light colored shirt trouser tie. Visakhapatnam had very very moist weather at that time. I was full of sweat. waterfall was running from my whole body! i entered the IO’s room with a smile and confident gesture. He offered hand shake, I did a warm handshake and sat on chair after he told me to sit.. there was a slight relief from the moist weather of Visakhapatnam as i entered an air-conditioned room. But very soon that relief was destroyed when he started asking me questions! for 5 minutes the IO asked personal questions about family and my friends. just after 5 minutes he started throwing GK questions! and as most of the science students i am also weak at GK. he kept asking me GK questions i kept answering “ I DON’T KNOW SIR!” again and again “I DON’T KNOW SIR!”. even he understood that i am total failure in GK and said “IT’S OK…NO ONE IS PERFECT” 😉 now at this point I started feeling nervous. now he started asking me questions related to science about density, Archimedes’s Principle and few questions that involved calculations. Since i was nervous i was able to answer only a few of them. At last, he asked about my previous attempts including the reason why i failed in previous attempts. he also asked about the competitive exams i gave and reasons of failure. i was able to satisfy him with my answers. now it has been 30 minutes of my interview, he then said “OK WE ARE DONE WITH THE INTERVIEW, YOU MAY LEAVE”. I took a breath of relief. I was not satisfied with my answers that much.

IMPORTANT POINTS:
1)In psychology tests naturally express yourself. No need to be fake or writing things told by coaching institutes and all.
2)In WAT,SRT write short sentences. Don’t use too much of grammar. Your answers should be understood by the reader. Think tactfully, solve tactfully.
3) In Self Description write absolutely truth! Because they will ultimately find it whether you are writing truth or lie.

DAY 3 and DAY 4- GTO
For me this is the best part of SSB! Here you have to stay outdoors and enjoy speaking and do some physical and mental work. In GD, Lecturette be to the point, don’t repeat words which are already spoken. Listen to others point and speak yours too. If you have some facts and figures then this is the place you can flaunt them off! In GPE, again, think tactfully and solve the problems. In Group obstacle race motivate everyone, do well, don’t show off small injuries. Remember it is a group task, not your personal task. So be with the group.
In PGT,CT,HGT,FGT you just need to have a sharp mind and tactful approach to solve the problem.
It would be beneficial for you if you do some physical exercises regularly before going for the SSB.

DAY 5- CONFERENCE
YES! THIS IS THE DAY WHICH CAN CHANGE LIFE OF SOMEONE!
This was the thought which came into my mind before the conference.
During my conference they asked me some routine questions and “WHY SHOULD WE RECOMMEND YOU?” so be prepared to answer this question.
My conference went for around 10 minutes.
Now it was the RESULT time!!
Heartbeats went faster and faster as we were approaching to hear the results. Getting recommended was my biggest dream. So I wished if I got recommended.
And yes! Chest No 15 I shouted “AMAN PANDEY sir!”
2 of us were recommended from 17. I was very happy as my dream had come true. I thanked god and called my parents and friend to give them one more reason to be proud of me!

So JAI HIND
If you have it in you, you will definitely be selected!
We can just try..rest is in the hands of the almighty.
Be confident and believe in yourself. Give your best shot and get recommended!
ALL THE BEST!

Recommended Twice For Indian Army In 8th And 9th Attempt

Hello everyone I am Bhaskar Choubey feel pleasure to share my SSB experience on this platform & my pursuit to join the Indian army.

My journey started 5 years ago when I first appeared before SSB for NDA entry, I was so excited and took coaching and that has affected me badly it kept a mentally block on me and I was conference out. This was like a shock to me.

But the soldier attitude of never giving up against any odd. Help me to keep fighting. After graduation I gave CDS and cleared it but again couldn’t clear SSB. This keep on continuing going SSB but not getting recommended but I kept learning from my mistakes in SSB. The main factor lacking in me was confidence and it took 5 yrs. to get over it. People around me start doubting me whether I can ever be recommended or not, also start suggesting other options that I have qualified gate so start PhD,etc.

But I was focused on my destination and finally in 8th attempt for CDS (IMA-141) from 17 SSB Bangalore on 23rd mar 2016 I got recommended,

Again on 02nd may 2016 I got recommended from 34 SSB Allahabad for AEC-123.

PPDT

In PPDT, I feel the most important aspect is to observe the picture correctly i.e. Surroundings, non-living things etc. because it help in correct perception & selecting correct theme.

Coming to discussion test what matters is:-

  • Relevance of the Story & Picture.
  • Self-confidence.
  • Power of expression.
  • Participation in Group discussion.Recommended Twice For Indian Army In 8th And 9th Attempt

Psychological test

This is the most important test and almost all candidates’ feels that he is only lacking in psychological test. The most important thing is that this test don’t require coming with preconceived ideas but it doesn’t mean one shouldn’t practice. Practice shows your sincerity toward the Job. Practice helps to complete test in required time frame.

In TAT the story should be a problem solving, short stories solving day to day life problems or having some innovative ideas. Don’t write adjective/qualities in your stories these qualities should come from your hero’s actions.

WAT: – Practice before going to SSB of completing all in time, write in very short and simple language. Try to complete all. I did 60 WAT.

SRT:- Write only actions no need to form sentences use commas. I completed 54 SRT.

Self-Description:- It’s all about knowing yourself, Self-introspection the better you know about yourself the better you will do in SD & in all psychological tests.

INTERVIEW

My Interview was taken by Maj Gen (commandant of Bangalore SSB). It went for 1hr.

Interview is mostly about self-awareness, reasoning ability, ability to think under stress & Confidence.

IO generally ask question based on PIQ about your family, friends and teachers. Always put your positive aspects to IO and never bluff.

GTO

It’s a task not a test so just go and enjoy doing this task. It’s a group task so the moto should be to win for the group not as an individual.

In GD it’s not only about speaking it’s also important to listen to others views and never so frustration on your face if not getting chance to speak.

I enjoyed doing all task in GTO. In Individual obstacles, I did 15 obstacles.

RESULT

My heart was pounding and pulse rate was above 100/min. When my chest number was announced 16, I didn’t believe for a while everyone started clapping and eyes were full of tears.

And yes finally I can say “yes I have it in me”.

10 Things To Know About AAD Interceptor Missile ‘Ashwin’

0
Interceptor Missile ‘Ashwin’

India, on Sunday, 15th May successfully test-fired an indigenously developed Advanced Air Defence interceptor missile, Ashwin, from the launch complex of Abdul Kalam Island in Bhadrak district of Odisha. It is capable of destroying any incoming hostile ballistic missile.

This was the 12th test of interceptor missiles fired from a warship in the Bay of Bengal out of which 10 were successful, including this one. With this successful test, India became the fourth country in the world to have full-fledged multi-layer Ballistic Missile Defence system just after the United States, Russia and Israel. The successful test will also strengthen India’s position in the very exclusive and elite Ballistic Missile Defence club of the other three countries.

Here is all that you need to know about the AAD interceptor missile – Ashwin:

  1. The interceptor missile was test fired from the complex of Abdul Kalam Island in Balasore district off Odisha coast.
  2. Ashwin is the advanced version of the low altitude supersonic ballistic interceptor missile.
  3. It is indigenously developed by DRDO and is capable of destroying any incoming hostile ballistic missile.
  4. During the test, it hit the target which was another ballistic missile: a modified version of Prithvi weapon system. Long range radar and multifunction fire control radar located far away successfully detected the missile from take-off and tracked it through its entire path.
  5. The interceptor missile, Ashwin, is 5-meter in length.
  6. It weighs around 2 tonnes and has a diameter of fewer than 0.5 metres.
  7. It is single-stage solid rocket propelled guided missile.
  8. It comes with an inbuilt navigator, an advanced computer and an electro-mechanical activator.
  9. The missile also has its own mobile launcher, secure data link for interception, independent tracking and homing capabilities and sophisticated radars.
  10. The new supersonic missile interceptor will soon become a part of the Indian Army’s arsenal of world-class weaponry.Interceptor Missile ‘Ashwin’

India is hurrying up the deployment of an advanced missile defence system to stave off threats from ballistic missiles at a time when China’s arsenal is growing in sophistication and numbers.

The test assumes significance as India plans to deploy a two-layered Ballistic Missile Defence (BMD) shield to protect its important cities and vital installations from hostile attacks.

While the first phase seeks to destroy incoming enemy missiles in the exo-atmospheric region (outside the atmosphere), the second phase envisages to kill enemy missiles of more than 2,000 km range in the endo-atmospheric (inside the atmosphere) region.

All You Need To Know About Recent State Elections

All You Need To Know About Recent State Elections

Few states in India recently went into election and results are expected by 19 may. The state elections are held by the election commission of India and monitored by a chief electoral officer. The elections in these states are vital as few of them contribute in a major way to the Indian economy. Before the elections, results are declared we bring some of the key points that you must know in order to improve your general knowledge.

1.

West-Bengal-ac-wise

State: West Bengal

Total Seats : 294

Election type and date : 5 phase election / 11 April – 5 may ( in 5 phases)

Major parties in the fray : All India Trinamool congress, BJP, Congress, Communist party of India

Election turnout: 80 % ( Avg of 5 phases)

Expectation: The TMC is expected to hold the ground with some vote distribution which is going to be taken by the BJP and the CPI. The congress is expected to lose more of its percentage

Special mention: The congress unofficially declared an alliance with the CPI which never happened before in the history of Indian politics. This could mean that in the case of a tight situation to form govt and the CPI has a majority the congress could help the CPI by giving support to form the govt.

2.

assam-asembly-constituencies-map

State: ASSAM

Total Seats: 126

Election type and date: Two Phase , 4 & 11 April

Major parties in the fray: BJP, Congress, AIDUF

Election turnout: 84.5 %

Expectation : Exit polls suggest a BJP regime with the congress following in very closely.

Special mention: The BJP allied with the Bodoland people’s front which raises speculations as to if the BJP will favour to the wishes of Bodoland, the congress stood alone while the AIDUF had JD(u) & RJD on its side.

3.

Tamil-Nadu-ac-wise

State: TAMIL NADU

Total seats : 234

Election type and date: Single phase, 16th may

Major parties in the fray: Dravida munetra kazhagam ( DMK) , All India anna Dravida munetra kazhagam ( AIADMK), Patalai matkal katchi ( PMK) , naam tamialr katchi ( NTK) , BJP, Congress, desia murpoku Dravida kazhagam (DMDK)

Election turnout: 73%

Expectation: The ruling party is expected to hold its ground ie AIADMK, but the vote share is said to be less and the victory margin will be just. That is enough to set it regime once again for the second time.

Special mention: The formation of PWF ( DMDK+ CPI+ VCK+ MDMK) is the third major party an unlikely alliance to counter the 2 Dravidian giants. They are expected to split the votes of the 2 parties and are front runners fo the next election.

4.

kerala-asembly-constituencies-map

State: KERALA

Total seats: 140

Election type and date : 16 may, Single phase

Major parties in the fray : LDF, UDF, BJP

Election turnout : 74%

Expectation : exit polls suggests that LDF is said to win the election and the UDF will be the opposition with the BJP to increase its vote share.

Special mention: Kerala has traditionally been the stronghold of two main rivals – the centrist UDF (United Democratic Front) and the leftist LDF (Left Democratic Front) – with power alternating between the two at regular intervals. The Congress-led UDF won in 2011 by a narrow margin of four seats. The LDF is determined to come back in power. Joining them in the race this time is a third contender, that is, the BJP.

There are some states that are expected to have a change in regime in the coming days which can impact the growth of india. This may be a positive or a negative based on the centre’s relation with the states goverment. Few more states are expected to go into election in the coming months like punjab and gujarat which is again another thing to look out for.

Why Self- Doubt Isn’t Doing You Any Good.

0
Indian Army Making Bridge

It’s rightly said that dreams don’t work unless you do. No matter how much one could wish that all of their dreams and aspirations could come true without having to work too hard, you will always find yourself and others striving to achieve the goals that everyone has set for themselves.
The catch to achieving great things in life and particularly one’s dreams and ambitions is that half of us live in self-doubt. You might have said the following things to yourself at least at one point in your life: ‘I can’t do this’, ‘’I’m not meant to do this’, I’m better off doing anything but this’, ‘ I won’t be able to achieve my goal’. At some instances, these internal dialogs act as a motivator and push us to do whatever it takes to complete a task or to achieve a goal. However, when these internal dialogs get too much to handle for an individual, the consequences can be quite grave.
Self-doubt is a normal and a natural emotion that everybody experiences. Me, you, our friends, family members and everyone who’s human, seems to doubt their capabilities and their worth from time to time. The point at which it becomes maladaptive is when a person completely gives up, gives up on his/her goal, gives up on trying and pretty much everything that is related to his/her goal in life. It can be very daunting and demoralizing when your n number of efforts don’t seem to give you the desired output. But what’s important to know is that IT IS OK. It is ok if nothing seems to be going the way you planned it. It is ok if you didn’t get what you wanted, in the first trial. It is ok if there are more downs than ups in your journey towards your goal.
The question that you need to ask yourself is- “Am I are determined to succeed?” or “Am I determined to fail?” Hoping that your answer is a ‘yes’ to the first question, there’s something you need to do right away- stop living in self-doubt and self-pity. If you want something then do something in order to get it. It’s that simple.
The most important thing is not the availability of resources or opportunities, rather the belief that you can make things happen and that you can achieve your goals.
The mind has a very vital role to play in cognitive processes. Research after research has shown and proven that if you put your mind to something, then half of the matter is sorted out there and then.
Start believing that your current situation in life isn’t always going to be like this, believe that change can happen for you and that you, yourself will make it happen.
Ask yourself the question that if you encounter a person who is unsure of his/her own capability and potential, will you, (as an employer) take the chance of hiring such a person in your organization? Probably not right? The point that I’m trying to make here is that you can not expect others to be sure of you and to believe in you if you, yourself are reluctant and doubtful to do that.
As you start believing in yourself and become sure of what all you are capable of, a lot of other positive changes start happening:
1. You become more self- confident .
2. Your self- efficacy increases.
3. You become more action orientated.
4. You start experiencing positive emotions more often.

“If you can dream it, you can achieve it”. Have faith in yourself and believe in your capabilities. Your goal won’t be too far from you.

China At Extreme End of The Dominance

China vs Indian Fight Army

India’s growing military expansion is attracting several private players and government has been seen emphasizing on increasing the defense expenditure. Recently Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar has commented to increase the defense expenditure in the budget. But as the tensions are growing between India and its powerful neighbor China, the situation seems to be replicating day by day. China’s growing military preparedness is a point of concern for India and other Asian nation. Some recent acts and steps taken by China clarifies its intentions. Some of them are given below.

  1. China Raises Its Tibetan Force Command’s Rank – The move that was recently reported, aims at expanding the scope of military preparedness and missions in the respective area. The step of raising the command’s authority is believed to take it under the PLA’s forces.
  2. China’s Concern over India’s NSG Membership – China has showed its opposition in providing India, the membership of NSG (Nuclear Supplier Group). China supported its move by saying that all NSG members are aiming to safeguard the Nuclear Non-Proliferation regime. On the other hand, U.S has given its support to India for joining the Nuclear Supplier Group.China vs Indian Fight Army
  3. Trade Route From China To Nepal – China has extended its hand toward the buffer nation between China and India i.e. Nepal. China has recently announced for setting up of a road and rail route to Nepal focusing on trading. Earlier, India’s intervention in the constitution and blockade issues in Nepal made the relation sour. The rail track goes to Tibet territory and the route then changes to the road. Earlier, fuel deal between China and Nepal that relieved Nepal from dependency for fuel on India, raised concerns in India.
  4. Folk Singer’s Deployment and Expansion of Disputed Island – The deployment of a folk singer on the disputed island in South China Sea once, again took the dispute around the tables. Earlier, construction of airstrips and further deployment of artillery weapons on the island made the issue more serious.
  5. LAC Demarcation Problems between India and China – NSA Ajit Doval and his Chinese counterpart Yang Jiechi in the 19th round of boundary talks in Beijing, raised the issue of LAC. The outcomes are still to be finalized and the issue is still a point of discussion between both the nations. Whereas China gave indications that is not up for demarcation of LAC.
  6. Masood Azhar Issue – China has supported Pakistan to oppose India’s proposal to U.N nations to ban Jaish-e-Mohommed chief Masood Azhar. Sources reported that nations like France, U.S. and U.K. supported the proposal, but China’s opposition as a veto power holder, took the matter into cold phase. China had done the same thing in past after Mumbai attacks.

Conclusion – China and India are the top growing powers in Asian region. Both the nations are handling tough circumstances and several major issues are surrounding China. U.S is catering the talks and issues between both the nations, but China seems to be uncomfortable with the intervention of the U.S. in between. China has recently made a comment saying that China and India are capable enough to sort out their issues without interference of any other nations. Well, this move can be actualized by parallel efforts form both the sides.

Exercise ‘Red Flag – Alaska’ Concludes At Eielson Air Force Base

0
Red Flag Exercise

Over the last decade, IAF has been actively participating in various operational exercises hosted by various countries. Recently, Exercise Red Flag-Alaska was conducted at Eielson Air Force Base in Alaska. The main phase of the exercise had commenced on 28th April with a mix of combat and support elements participating from IAF, USAF and US Navy. The exercise concluded on this Friday, May 13th.

Here is what happened during the exercise:

  1. The advanced aerial combat training exercise saw the IAF’s potent SU-30 MKI aircraft participating in Offensive Counter Air Ops in which they provided Escort cover to the strike elements.
  2. The IAF Jaguars DARIN II undertook integrated strike missions dropping practice bombs over the world renowned JPARC (Air to Ground Range).
  3. A team of over 170 Indian personnel was part of the exercises.
  4. The Indian Air Force (IAF) flew 10 aircraft: 4 Su-30MKIs, 4 Jaguars and 2 IL-78 aerial refuelling tankers.
  5. The exercise was played under the multiple simulated scenarios designed to provide realistic settings with a Red Force, defending their airspace and assets, and a Blue Force acting as the offensive side.
  6. The Red Force was largely constituted by U.S. F-16 fighters, while the IAF planes, along with other USAF aircraft such as F-15, F-16 and F-22 and the U.S. Navy F-18, constituted the Blue Force.
  7. A set of Red Flag team also formed the ‘White Force’ which watched the entire exercise in real time on tactical displays in the operations room on ground. Kill removal (removal of the pilots and aircraft assumed shot by the enemy) made the exercise more realistic.
  8. There were three missions commanded by IAF in the exercise. Mission commanders of both the Jaguars and Su 30s were involved in planning, execution and conduct of debrief.
  9. The teams had to endure sub-zero temperatures during most of the exercise, which posed a challenge to the maintenance team despite which they managed to maintain 100 percent serviceability of all platforms.
  10. The IAF fighters have always flown with their radars switched off during exercises with the U.S. so as not to reveal the radar signatures.
  11. The Red Flag exercise, held periodically at the Nellis Air Force Base since 1975, provides an opportunity to the pilots from the US, NATO and other allied countries to practice and refine their skills for real combat situations.
  12. Since the exercises are an expensive endeavour, the IAF had decided to participate once in five years. This edition is believed to have cost over ₹100 crore.

The contingent is expected to return to India in the last week of May. The Su-30s will additionally participate in the exercise “Desert Eagle II” with the UAE Air Force on their way back home.
