18 Things That All Fauji Girlfriends Can Relate To

The whole experience of being in love is delightful; however it gets even better when you are in love with a soldier! Fauji relationships aren’t the regular type and being in a relationship with a man in uniform isn’t easy too, but for what it’s worth, it is completely life changing. The feeling of loving and to be loved, by a person who constantly faces danger, every time, every day for the safety of the people of our country is something that words can’t describe.

Being a fauji girlfriend is a different experience altogether, having said that following are some of the things that all the fauji girlfriends can relate to:

  1. You’ve become so familiar with the Army jargons that they are now a part of your vocabulary. When you use these ‘not so common’ and ‘peculiar’ words, you get quite a look from your civilian friends.
  2. Part of the reason that you are this strong woman today is because of n number of times that he’s cancelled his leave (because he has to), however, the heartbreaks don’t matter when you finally get to see and meet him.
  3. When he’s posted away, you phone becomes your best friend. You never (never, ever) let it go out of your sight. You even wake up at 3am just to have a two minutes conversation with him and in a weird way, it makes your day.
  4. You’ve become extremely patient in life. Waiting comes naturally to you, all thanks to the months and months of planning your leaves together and waiting for the execution of your plans ( that you’ve so joyfully made!) to happen.
  5. Being addressed as ma’am is now very common for you, since that’s what his friends and known people call you.
  6. You have a souvenir/ gift from each place of his posting.
  7. Every piece of news about the Armed Forces and especially about the area in which he’s posted grabs your attention right away.
  8. You spend most of your ideal time counting Days Left for Him to Come Home and making an endless list of plans and things to do when he’s around ( most of which just involves cuddling).
  9. When he’s on a course (young officer’s course, etc.) you become his source of motivation and push him to perform his best.
  10. You understand the sacrifices and the hardships of the Army life so much better now and you couldn’t be any more proud of him.
  11. Your entire schedule and priorities change when he’s on leave.
  12. The exchange of letters is what keeps the spark alive in your long distance relationship.
  13. Even though the two of you are miles apart, he is always the first one to know of your every sadness and every joy. His love and support are what makes it all worthwhile.
  14. Movies like LOC Kargil, Lakshya, Pukaar, Border, Yahaan, and Holiday are your all-time favourites. Songs from these movies fill your heart with so much love and sadness.
  15. The number of times you’ve met each other is probably far less than the months that you’ve together for.
  16. You have spent days without hearing his voice and months without meeting him, but all this only strengthens your love and pride for him.
  17. When he’s back, you both spend most of your time making as many memories as possible (clicking pictures, etc.) and these become your saving grace when you both are apart.
  18. You are super-duper proud of your man in uniform. Irrespective of all the hard times that you face while being away from him and being in this unusual long distance relationship, you wouldn’t have it any other way and for what it’s worth, you’d do it all over again.

P.S. – My utmost regards to all the fauji girlfriends out there. You girls are amazing and I’m sure your soldier loves you more than anything else. Hang in there ladies!
Jai Hind!

“Words are like threads, make a web from it and catch the mind of people.” Hey guys this is Mayank Kumar Shukla going to share my story and experience through this. I was recommended back in Sept 2015 from Allahabad in my first attempt but unfortunately I didn’t make it to the academy and was merit out that time. But forgetting the past and moving ahead in life, I boosted up myself for my next SSB. My parents encouraged me a lot; my best buddies, Jyotsana Anand, Ankur Singh and Adarsh Pandey helped me while the preparation. My Social Studies teacher Miss Shashi Singh ma’am also helped me in preparing current affairs and took my interview several times which increased my confidence.

My reporting date for the SSB was 14th March 2016 in Allahabad. I departed from Lucknow to Allahabad on 13th March after seeking the blessings of my parents who came along with me to the railway station. I reached there at 1pm and went with my Uncle Mr. Anand Dubey to his house. I rested there, had food and revised a bit for the SSB in the evening and took a proper sleep in the night.

To crack SSB interview,  recommend you to get “Let’s Crack SSB Interview” book from Amazon.

Next day, my uncle dropped me at the MCO and from there I joined my fellow candidates who were waiting there. We all went together to the Selection Centre by the army bus and had breakfast there. Then we were called for document verification and were divided into three groups, first The Fresher’s and the screened out, second The Repeaters/conference out and last group was of a previously recommended candidate in which I found myself alone but after few minutes a candidate came out of the repeaters line and joined me. He was recommended few days before from Allahabad for NDA-136 batch. There were total of 231 candidates who reported that day and I was having the last chest number i.e. 231 😛

The screening process went as usual which comprises of Intelligence Tests followed by Picture Perception and Discussion Test (PP and DT). My Intelligence Tests went good and I completed all the questions in given time. Picture Perception test also went good and now it was the time for the discussion test. It went on as it was expected and that room became fish market as soon after the assessor said to start the discussion. After that psychologist decided to divide the group into two sub groups and then conducted the test. Afterward, we were provided lunch and then we went back to the testing hall for knowing the result. The results were announced of Day-1 test and 20 were screened in out of 231 candidates and I got chest no.19.  We then filled the PIQ form and then we talked to each other and became friends on the first day only.

DAY-2

The next day was psychological test which comprises of Thematic Apperception Test, Word Association Test, Situation Reaction Test and Self Description Test. We all went to the testing hall and took our seats and the instructions were provided by the assessors before very test. I did 12/12 TAT, 58/60 WAT, 47/60 SRT and wrote the SDT projecting the necessary and positive qualities.

Here I would like to say that one should be true in this test along with plenty amount of managed thoughts in mind. AND your writing speed should also be fast to cope up with the time given for every test. 😛

On completion of these tests, few candidates went for their interview and rest of us went to the candidate’s line. We played different games and enjoyed the company of each other there. I learned the tactics of volley ball from my fellow mates in the evening.

DAY-3

GTO Day-1, the day on which our group effort is checked along with physical strength. We all woke up at 04:30am and got ready like a white angel 😛 We were asked to assemble at 06:30am so we did our breakfast early and gathered near the shed. Everyone was excited for the GTO activities and was discussing how to tackle every situation in those tasks. We had Group Discussion, Group Planning Exercise, Progressive Group Task, Group Obstacle Race, Half Group Task, Lecturette and Individual Obstacle on the first day of GTO only.

GD went good as we all planned earlier in our group that not to make it noisy and to give everyone equal opportunity to express his views. GPE also went good and we all agreed upon the common story very soon. In PGT, group members responded very well and we completed the task before the given time. Then we went to the most interesting, physically challenging and sort of fun-filled task which is popularly known as “Snake Race”. We all did very well in the task and finished first. But all the three groups where cheering and shouting their war cry as every group was thinking that they have won it. I suppose the assessors are so smart that they create certain situations so that every group finishes the race at the same time.Recommended For Indian Army TES-35 After Getting Merit Out In TES-34

After that we were given a break of 20mins and then we were divided in two sub groups of odd and even chest numbers for HGT and my group completed that task within the given time. Now it was the time of Lecturette, my personal favorite task. I spoke on ‘Strikes and protests: harming or helping the citizens’. We got a 3-4min break in which everyone praised my speaking quality which boosted my morale to the peak. After that, our group was called for IO. I completed 14 obstacles in 3minutes, 5 obstacles more than my previous SSB.

Proceedings of the day end after IO task. None of us was having any further energy left inside and we all hurried to the candidate’s line and lied on our bed like a nonliving object. It seemed like the scene of night in the afternoon. 😛

To crack SSB interview,  recommend you to get “Let’s Crack SSB Interview” book from Amazon.

DAY-4

GTO Day-2, only two of our tasks were left. Command Task and Final Group Task. We completed it easily. Then I got information that my interview is scheduled at 10am so I have to go direct to the SSB board in the GTO dress only. I washed my face and went to the waiting room of the 14SSB board. After few minutes my chest number flashed on the screen and I entered the room of Dy President. Interview went nice and I suppose interviewing officer was satisfied by my answers. Firstly he asked the questions related to my personal life like about my marks achieved in different classes, family and friends in a rapid fire manner. Then he asked general knowledge questions related to countries and their capitals, currencies, full forms and different organizations of which I answered most of them. My interview went for approx 30-40mins.

DAY-5

It was the Conference Day. We all woke up early, dressed up formally, packed our bags and went to the waiting shed. We were briefed about the conference procedure by the staff member. I waited for my number and then went for my conference. Dy President asked about the differences in between my both the SSB’s experience. He also asked me about the changes I faced after getting merit out. He then asked me for the suggestions of which I answered that all the things were very good and I enjoyed it a lot. BUT he then again asked to suggest him two changes of which I said him to enhance the facility of wet canteen and a space for cricket ground 😀 My conference went for around 15mins. And then we gathered in the room for the results.

The result came within 20mins and I made it once again. Total of four candidates were selected out of 20 candidates. I called my parents as soon as I got time and informed them with tears of happiness in my eyes.

I was medically fit in my first SSB but this time, I got TR for Cardiac murmur, Tachycardia and B/L Flat feet which I have cleared in the medical review. This time, I am hoping for the best and a good rank in the merit list.

To crack SSB interview,  recommend you to get “Let’s Crack SSB Interview” book from Amazon.

At last, I will say to my fellow Defence aspirants that if u want to see yourself in the olive green you must be determined for it. All the things happen in your life to check your determination. If you are determined towards your goal, you will definitely achieve it. “The secret of life though is to fall seven times and to get up eight times.”

Scuffle Broke Out Between 4-5 Army Jawans And Officers

Scuffle Broke Out Between 4-5 Army Jawans And Officers

Scuffle broke out between a group of  a group of 4-5 army Jawans and officers after a Jawan died, possibly of a heart attack, after the entire unit was sent on a 10 kilometer march in army’s North-East unit today.

The deceased had complained of the chest pain but was found fit by the medical officer. During the training exercise of the unit he collapsed.

The incident triggered an angry outburst from the fellow jawans resulting in fight between jawans and officers. one Officer was beaten up by the agitated jawans for his alleged apathetic attitude. Senior officers have rushed to the spot to assess the situation. The Army has confirmed that this fight has resulted in injuries.

However, the army has described the incident as not a serious breach of indiscipline.

In a statement to the media, the Indian Army has said, “A case of death of a jawan during routine training activity has taken place in an infantry unit in the North East. It is NOT a case of any mutiny. The Jawan complained of chest pain prior to route march – was checked by unit MO (Medical Officer) and found fit. The jawan later collapsed during route march – was brought to the Field Ambulance where he succumbed.”

Meanwhile, the court of enquiry has been ordered and the matter is being investigated.

The Army statement was issued after reports emerged on social media of a “mutiny-like” situation involving officers and jawans in the area.

Recommended For OTA Gaya After NDA

Hello guys this is Nikhil Srivastava again. This is my SSB experience for TES-35. I was recommended from 19 SSB for NDA 136 ,the experience of which I have shared earlier with you guys. My  actual reporting date was 3 April but because of JEE Mains exam on that day I got my reporting date extended to 10 April.

Well here it goes ,
I reached Allahabad on 9th April ,waited at the dormitory for a night
Took a peaceful sleep after a hectic  journey from Bareilly to Allahabad ,got ready and reported at the Selection Centre the very next day.

To crack SSB interview,  recommend you to get “Let’s Crack SSB Interview” book from Amazon.

A total of 550 candidates reported , so the screening procedure started a little late as the  document verification took some time.
After document verification was over we were allowed our pre screening chest numbers and we were given 18 SSB chest numbers.
The screening procedure went as usual, the intelligence test and the PPDT.
Everything was as usual except the discussion part which went very hectic,so here I applied the rule taught by my mentor, take the chance of speaking when a little silence prevails in the group and it really helped me a lot.
The result was that I got screened in and was allowed chest no 15 , a total of 18 candidates were screened in.We filled the PIQ that day and became good friends with each other .
The next day was the Psychology test
I did
12/12 TAT
58/60 WAT
52/60 SRT
Aspirants I would like to say again that here being true to yourself and a calm mind is necessary.
If you have a calm mind and you are true to yourself then your true personality will emerge out itself and it will only help you otherwise we all know the result?
My personal interview was scheduled on the day of psychology test only but was postponed to the next day.
So my interview was on the GTO-1 day .
My GTO-1 day went good .My group was good in GD , GPE and I also gave my lecture fluently and effectively ,the topic being Militancy in J&K. We did the Progressive Group Task in a little more time than the stipulated time?.We performed the Half Group Task also efficiently.Recommended For OTA Gaya After NDA
Next was my personal interview  which lasted for 20 minutes only. All the questions that the interviewing officer asked me was general knowledge. Here, I realized that if the interviewing officer wants to bring out your true personality he can do it through any means, be it through questions related to your personal life or GK.
The next day was GTO-2 in which I did 12 Individual Obstacles ,performed my Command Task effectively ensuring a perfect coordination with my subordinates. We also completed the the Final Group Task in the stipulated time.
The next day was the conference day , the conference started from the back side i.e. from chest no 18. The conference was also good , the deputy president took my conference and he asked everything politely.
After the conference I knew I had done my best and nothing to regret about.
The result came in no time and there it was chest no 15 I had done it again, I have it in me.
I got recommended along with chest no 10 ,his name being Raghuvendra Pal
In the pic I am chest no 14+ and my buddy Raghuvendra is chest no 7+.
I got medically fit also the second time so now I am waiting for two merit lists. One of NDA & the other being of TES.

Lieutenant General Demoted To Brigadier For Tweaking Records

Lt Gen NK Mehta Demoted To Brigadier For Tweaking Records

The Lucknow bench of the Armed Forces Tribunal on Friday ordered the demotion of a lieutenant general rank officer to brigadier for manipulating his service record in connivance with defence ministry officials for a promotion.

The tribunal asked the officer, Lt Gen NK Mehta, to pay Rs 5 lakh as cost for concealing material facts. It also imposed a Rs 50 lakh fine on the defence ministry, Army headquarters and military secretary branch for failing to maintain a benchmark for promotion in the forces.

Lt Gen Mehta is one of the senior-most serving officers of the Army Ordnance Corps.

The tribunal advised the ministry of defence to be “more responsible” and held that “looking to the vantage position of the Army, the MoD should not work like an ordinary government office where bureaucracy rules the roost and acts as eminence grises.”
The division bench passed the orders while dismissing an application filed by Mehta.

“Needless to say, it’s such type of incidents and lack of probity in the system, which paves the way for sleeper cells of foreign countries to be activated to enter and manage the defence purchases and derive benefits of kickbacks,” the bench stated.

15 Things To Know About IAF’s ‘e-MMS Project’

0
IAF’s e-MMS Project

In what is being hailed by the Indian Air Force as one of the biggest automated military maintenance systems in the world and an important milestone in IAF history, the Indian Air Force has launched its Electronic Maintenance Management System (e-MMS) Project, an automated military maintenance system.

It was inaugurated by the Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha at the Air Force Station in Pune, Maharashtra, giving a boost to Prime Minister’s ‘Digital India’ initiative.

Here are the 15 points to know about the e-MMS Project of the IAF:

  1. The e-MMS project is one of the largest Maintenance Repair Overhaul (MRO) IT implementation in the world.
  2. The project has been designed and developed by the Indian IT company, Wipro. The contract for the project e-MMS was signed with Wipro as a System Integrator (SI) on February 4, 2013.
  3. The deadline for this project has been set at December 2017.
  4. The e-MMS system has a central console that will help IAF to get rid of paper works and heavy logbooks. It will transform IAF’s paper-based legacy maintenance system to an online system as it will be implemented in IAF’s hierarchy and functioning.
  5. It seeks to seamlessly connect squadrons, wings, commands, and Air Headquarters after its implementation.
  6. It will help to transform work environment of IAF to become more efficient and also help to monitor the operational availability of all fleets and systems in real time at various hierarchical levels. It will help individually, squadron-wise, station-wise and command-wise.
