The old victims of this change are IT branch candidates, they have been isolated from technical entries since TGC-115, now not only IT branch, but many other renowned branches have been removed from recent technical entry TGC-117 . Lets see the change in vacancies by your self.

All these branches were eligible in TGC-116th, you can find most of the know branches and sub branches. The red strike through lines are few branches which are not notified in TGC-117th notification.
Army is very clear with this, they are considering only mentioned branches and not self assumed things by candidates.

Well, compare the text in both images, can you see the differences. Yes, it clearly shows the difference in vacancies and eligible engineering branches.
Cut off for TGC-117th is still unknown but with the recent update in SSC-40th tech cut off , it is clear that TGC-117th will also follow some cut off and probably same like SSC-40th tech.

why army dosen’t want technical graduates when there are lot of improvements of military infrastructure and facilities are going on?! it is shocking!!
Academic % doesn’t mean that a person is a true aspirant. So army should consider those who are real aspirants. Even for standard improvement cutoff fixing is an unfair method because different universities have different grading pattern. Also due to some mishap candidates may fail to secure required cutoff %. So army can conduct written test for tech entry also like cdse for standard improvement. Otherwise this % cutoff system will curb many aspirant’s dream to join Indian defense forces who have real OLQ’s and who are real aspirants.

Dear Friends,
I think the criteria of B.tech. percentage cut-off to select the aspirants to appear before SSB is not right.
The need to remove this cut-off criteria ( or to introduce a common test) is of Supreme Importance to us.
I appeal to all my friends to take this matter on high priority as IF NOT NOW, NEXT CHANCE WILL NEVER COME.
we can do following things:
1. Humbly request Recruiting Directorate by informing them about our concerns and zeal and josh to join Indian Army.
2. In gentlemen way, we can further appeal to Defense Ministry to look into the matter ( as it a matter of thousands of genuine candidates aspiring to join Indian Defense Forces).
3. We can also move the Supreme Court to suggest the introduction of common entrance exam for this.

@admin in tgc 117 notification they had mentioned only ELECTRICAL is eligible . it means EEE might not be eligible but there was no special branch called ELECTRICAL in our university(jntu) it will be always mixed with some other branches like “ELECTRICAL and INSTRUMENTATION” , “EEE “….etc…then for ELECTRICAL branch Who will be eligible sir ????
i agree with u.. but for ur kind information there is available of pure electrcal stream in engineering at some university.. at the same time there is no any pure electrical stream in our state(TAMIL NADU)and not even in ANNA UNIVERITY.. and am form ST.PETERS UNIVERSITY(NO PURE ELECTRCAL)
and there is one more problem in the system if they can take all the boys who got recomended that is all 170 then why is it the ratio of girls is awfully small.just 35 on 170.something seriously needs to be done about this too.
this has been really disheartning and frustating for applicants.i was recomended from ssc 10 but then got merit out.but candidature of some of the girls recomended with me was cancelled that too after being recomended.that too some were recomended 2nd time.if the vacancies were very well notified this was not at all a fair step.
i also want to know abt EEE branch what is the problem if electrical,electronics and many related branches are there but not EEE why???????

sir this cutoff percentage for tgc and ssc is like a night mare to an aspirant like me.because i am trying to get into the armed forces from my engineering days.but now suddenly there is a issue of percentage for a candidate like me you are taking away the chance…sir please thinkof the issue..
May b The Army doesn’t have any vacancy in these streams this year and so excluded them from the list, they may appear again next year if there is a vacancy

Dear sir, what i see as a possible solution for this is tat army can atleast induct these recommended candidates into some other course..lik OTA(NT) or even IMA(DE) with the CDS candidates..most of the time the vacancies r not filled up der..they can atleast fill it up using dese candidates who seem to have proved their officer lik qualities..i seriously don understand their actions…and later on they wil whine saying they r short of officers…also they must make sure tat the candidates medically fit who miss out on merit list must be given a chance atlst in the next course..preference should be gvn..its not easy sir..competition is scaling wit every year,..and gettin recommended among thousands is a great deal..
my branch is also EEE,really upset.can anyone confirm abt eligibility criteria of EEE branch.if electrical(EE)branch eligible &even electronic branch then wats the problem in EEE Branch???

this is very sad for many like me i am IT which i excluded many months ago by army…but who says i can not join armed forces i can apply for AFCAT i can apply for CDS i can apply for navy SSC entries and i would like to say all the best for all friends do apply for all these entries fulfill your dream and serve the nation with pride
