8 Things to learn from Captain Cool Lt. Col MS Dhoni

Lt. Col Dhoni is a name which evens a kid knows in India. Acclaimed of being the most successful captain in the history of India cricket, he has time and again proved that he has earned this title of being the most successful captain. He is a very hard-working and logical person, and all the success he has is not just by luck or fluke. Dhoni is a man of action, a man of calm mind and prowess over the field. A lot has been talked about his calm behavior in and out of the field. Critics wonder how he can be so composed even in pressure situations. He has won the world cup and all major trophies, and is termed to be the best finisher in the world in modern cricket. Even in the semi-finals he was outstanding, like a wall when the wickets on the other end were falling. Aussies were still tensed while he was on the pitch, knowing that till he is there India can still win. Had it not been a bad run out, he would have changed the game definitely. Here are the qualities of our Captain Cool, which make him a success, and are inspiration for a lot of us:

8 Things to learn from Captain Cool MS Dhoni

  1. Willpower: You must have heard the saying “where there is a will there is a way”, well he is a living example for that. Dhoni has proved time and again that his will power is something nobody and no pressure situation can take away. He has come out on the field in difficult situations and snatched victory from other sides.
  2. Leadership: He is an incredible leader. The success which Indian team has seen in his tenure is amazing. He is a good team player and knows how to handle difficult situations. None of his team mates have complains against him as a captain. He has a vision and good plan execution skills which eventually help him in foreseeing what is to come.
  3. Team Player: Well nobody can be a good leader if he is not a team player. Dhoni is a loved captain who has got the support of his team. He makes wise decisions regarding the team and all his decisions are welcomed by all. There has never been a occasion when he has overlooked the benefit for his team. He understands his players and cares for them.
  4. Patience: The biggest virtue of Captain cool is his patience. In any situation he is cool. Nobody has seen him frowning or worrying. This nature motivates the team to perform better as if the captain is not under pressure, the team never gets under pressure.
  5. Love for the country and his work: He loves his work, i.e. playing cricket. For him that comes before anything else in the world, be it his family or himself. HE says that he loves serving his country and would like to serve in the Territorial Army after retiring from cricket, of which he is a part.
  6. Sharing the credit: Dhoni is never seen taking credit for the wins. He always says that the team performed well. And when they lose any match he takes the blame on himself. Sign of a true gentleman and a good leader, right?
  7. The art of moving on: Captain cool never lets failures to get on hm. He sure does ponders on the reasons, but he never lets the failure take control. Instead he rises from them and makes the team shine. This is great lesson to be learnt from him, we should never let the disappointments get us.
  8. Loving the critics: If a person can learn to take critics positively, he can go a long-long way. Any successful person can transform the criticism to take out the best from him. Dhoni is widely criticized for a lot of decisions he makes, but he never lets that to stop him, instead he learns from them.

  1. One thing more I want to add on this is a well built physique. Yes, you don’t need to be a great body builder or something for the success in SSB.
Yes, it is true that a minimum level of stamina is needed but it is the test of your brain buf not your physical strength.
