Cleared NDA Exam: What Next?

NDA II 2015 results have been announce a few days ago refueling joy in the young aspirants. But that’s not the end. Main battle starts here. The way ahead has to be crossed with care. Fresher finds it hard to initiate the preparation for SSBs while some repeaters also need directions for the same. Here we have some points that every candidate who has cleared NDA exam should follow to get him prepared for the upcoming SSB.

  • Check and arrange required documents – All NDA aspirants who have successfully cleared NDA has written must go through the previous SSB call-up letters to get info about the documents required, no of copies of Xerox and photos, etc. this is nectar to ensure any mistake while attending SSB which can challenge your candidature. Candidates who are appearing in 12th class need to pay more attention at this point.
  • Go through dummy PIQ form and practice it – A good PIQ is the selection letter from the candidate. So be careful in filling the PIQ form as 90% of the interview is based on PIQ. Fill it carefully, memorize it carefully, and avoid cuttings or overwriting’s. Your personal interview always revolves around your PIQ and interviewing officer judges your past, present and future on the basis of your PIQ.   • Some exercise is mandatory – The GTO segment of the SSB has some tasks where you need to have a required basic stamina. Do some exercise, running and maintain your physical stability. It doesn’t mean to start gym. Just prepare yourself for the physical tasks so that you don’t feel tired while attempting GTO.
  • Get into public discussions – Speaking skills are very important in SSB schedule. From GD to personal interviews, a candidate must have the power to speak up his views and points in front of a group of people and simultaneously grab their points also. What you have to learn is the skill of effectively listening to the people and replying to it with a strong point. And the second thing is to make yourself capable of delivering your point in during a hot discussion.
  • Writing practice to fight with time – Psychological tests are composition of mind accelerating situations which one has to tackle in given time. So apart from good psychology, you have to practice for a good writing speed to match your mind with words. Just practice to write in a readable form in time scarce situation.
  • Gather global and national news by digital or print media – To prepare for SSB candidates is advised to be regular in reading newspaper or watching newspaper. It is always preferred to read newspaper as it improves your vocabulary and continuous reading boosts knowledge as well as your writing and speaking skills.
  • Mock interviews to rebuild confidence – More than half of the SSB schedule has the word war. The candidate needs to be an open speaker. From screening, personal interview to electorate and GD. The candidate has to be prepared for speaking in front of people. This can be done by practicing mock interview either in front of a mirror or with someone else.
