Revealed: Siachen tells the story of the Siachen Glacier and the challenges faced by the Indian soldier while on duty there. The main focus is the Indian Army operations on land and in air under the still continuing Operation Meghdoot.
The story unfolds through the eyes of Major Amit Aukta – a new inductee, Capt Deepshikha Pandey from the Army Medical Corps, Major Vikalp Sharma from the Army Aviation Corps and Col Hariharan, Base Commander at the Siachen Base Camp.
Military training at the Transit Camp in Leh is followed by the rigours of acclimatization and high altitude warfare at the Siachen Battle School near the base of the Siachen glacier. Soldiers then trek to the glacier, where army posts exist at altitudes of over 21,000 feet. The Army Aviation Corps and the Army Medical Corps are key elements in supporting day to day operations at the glacier.
