TES 51 Age Limit

TES 51 Training

The TES 51 course consists of various training phases:

1. Basic Military Training: Candidates will undergo 1 year of Basic Military Training at the Officer Training Academy in Gaya.

   • Phase-I (Pre Commission Training): Candidates will undergo 3 years of technical training at establishments like CME Pune, MCTE Mhow, or MCEME Secunderabad.

3. Award of Degree: Successful completion of the final examination will result in the award of an engineering degree. The officers will be permitted one relegation on academic grounds during the last two semesters of the course.
4. Type of Commission: Upon successful completion of the 4-year course, cadets will be granted a Permanent Commission in the Army in the rank of Lieutenant.
5. Seniority: The cadets will be granted seniority based on the overall order of merit of the three technical institutes combined. In case the date of commissioning coincides with that of IMA, Dehradun, they will be placed en-block junior to IMA (NDA/ ACC / DE Course) but above TGC / UES course.

TES 51 Selection Procedure

The selection procedure for the TES 51 course consists of the following stages:

1. Shortlisting of Applications: Integrated HQ of MoD (Army) reserves the right to shortlist applications based on the cut-off percentage decided. Shortlisted candidates will be allotted a Selection Centre, and they will have to select their SSB dates on a first-come, first-serve basis.
2. SSB Interview: Shortlisted candidates will undergo a two-stage selection procedure at one of the Selection Centres – Allahabad, Bhopal, Bengaluru, or Jalandhar. The SSB interview duration is five days, and it is followed by a medical examination for recommended candidates.
3. Medical Examination: Candidates recommended by the SSB and declared medically fit will be issued a joining letter for training based on the order of merit and the number of vacancies available.
4. Bonds/Certificates: Finally selected candidates will be required to execute all the Bonds/Certificates prescribed for the Cadets of NDA entry.

Common Candidates: TES and NDA Entry

Candidates who have applied for both the 10+2 Technical Entry Scheme (TES) and the National Defence Academy (NDA & NA) parallel courses need to undergo separate medical examinations for the recommended entries. The medical examination for TES and NDA (AF and Navy) will be conducted separately. However, if a candidate is recommended for NDA before the TES SSB, they need not undergo a separate medical examination for TES.

TES 51 Merit List

The merit list for the TES 51 course is prepared based on the marks obtained by the candidate at the SSB interview. Higher educational qualifications, previous performances, NCC background, etc., do not play a role in the finalization of the merit list.
