General Manoj Pande, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) of India, embarked on an official visit to the United States, marking a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to strengthen military cooperation between the two nations.

During his visit, General Pande engaged in a series of high-profile events and discussions aimed at bolstering bilateral ties and addressing key security challenges.

Upon his arrival at Fort Myers, General Pande was greeted with a review of the US Army Honour Guard, showcasing the ceremonial traditions and precision of the American military.

Following this, in a solemn ceremony at the Arlington National Cemetery, General Pande paid his respects by laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, honouring the sacrifices of fallen heroes.

Subsequently, General Pande participated in high-level professional discussions with General Randy George, the Chief of Staff of the United States Army, and other senior military leaders.

These discussions covered various aspects of bilateral importance, including strategic cooperation, counterterrorism efforts, and regional security dynamics. The aim was to further enhance the mutual commitment towards global peace and security, underscoring the shared interests and values between India and the United States.

During his visit to the Army Geospatial Centre at Fort Belvoir, General Pande explored advanced geospatial technologies and their applications in military operations.

Additionally, at the National Defence University located at Fort McNair, he engaged with Vice President of the University, delving into strategic studies and defence education initiatives.

In a significant diplomatic move, General Pande also interacted with the Charge d’Affaires of the Indian Embassy in the United States, discussing important ongoing and prospective initiatives aimed at fostering closer ties between the two countries.
