Defence Cyber Agency Hosts Chief Information Security Officers Conclave

Discussions revolved around the latest trends in cyber security, emerging technologies, and strategies for strengthening cyber resilience in the face of evolving threats.

In a proactive measure to bolster the cyber defence capabilities of the Indian Armed Forces, the Defence Cyber Agency (DCyA) organized the Chief Information Security Officers (CISO) Conclave – 24. The two-day event, held on 14th and 15th March 2024, brought together officers from the tri-services of the Indian Armed Forces under the purview of Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff (HQ_IDS).

The CISO Conclave served as a platform for cyber warriors to sharpen their skills and stay abreast of the evolving threat landscape in the digital domain.

With cyber threats becoming increasingly dynamic and sophisticated, the conclave provided an opportunity for information security officers to enhance their expertise and readiness to counter emerging challenges.

One of the highlights of the event was the conduct of situation-based Table Top Exercises (TTX) aimed at rehearsing incident response procedures.

These exercises, facilitated by the Data Security Council of India (DSCI), simulated real-world cyber threats and scenarios, enabling participants to test their preparedness and coordination in handling cyber incidents effectively.

The TTX sessions allowed CISOs to apply their knowledge and expertise in identifying, containing, and mitigating cyber threats across various domains. Through collaborative efforts and strategic planning, participants gained valuable insights into the importance of rapid response and proactive measures to safeguard critical information infrastructure.

The conclave also served as a platform for knowledge sharing and exchange of best practices among cyber security professionals from different branches of the armed forces.

Discussions revolved around the latest trends in cyber security, emerging technologies, and strategies for strengthening cyber resilience in the face of evolving threats.

Furthermore, the CISO Conclave underscored the significance of continuous training and capacity building in the field of cyber security.

The successful conduct of the Chief Information Security Officers Conclave reflects the commitment of the Defence Cyber Agency and the Indian Armed Forces to staying ahead of the curve in the realm of cyber security.

As cyber threats continue to evolve, initiatives like the CISO Conclave play a crucial role in ensuring the resilience and security of India’s digital infrastructure, thereby safeguarding national interests and ensuring mission success in the cyber domain.
