India Coast Guard Welcomes Dr S. Jaishankar Aboard Samudra Paheredar

In a momentous occasion highlighting India’s commitment to maritime cooperation and diplomacy in the ASEAN region, the Indian Coast Guard proudly welcomed Dr. S. Jaishankar, the Honorable External Affairs Minister of the Government of India, aboard the India Coast Guard ship Samudra Paheredar in Manila, Philippines.

As part of the Overseas Deployment (OSD) to ASEAN countries from March 25th to April 12th, the Samudra Paheredar’s mission is to bolster cooperation and collaboration in crucial maritime domains such as Maritime Search and Rescue, Maritime Law Enforcement, and Marine Environment Protection.

The visit of Dr. S. Jaishankar to the Samudra Paheredar signifies India’s commitment to actively engaging with ASEAN nations to address shared maritime challenges and promote regional stability and security.

By embarking on this OSD mission, India aims to strengthen bilateral and multilateral ties while fostering greater synergy and coordination in maritime operations and initiatives.
