Assam Rifles Commanders Conference 2024: Focus on Operational Capability

In a concerted effort to enhance the operational capability and efficiency of the Assam Rifles, the prestigious Assam Rifles Commanders Conference 2024 was convened on April 5, 2024, at Laitkor, Shillong.

Chaired by Lt Gen P C Nair, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, PhD, the Director General of Assam Rifles, the conference served as a platform to deliberate on key issues pertinent to the force’s mission readiness and effectiveness.

During the conference, senior commanders of the Assam Rifles engaged in comprehensive discussions aimed at identifying strategies and initiatives to further strengthen the operational capabilities of the force.

Various aspects related to counter-insurgency operations, border security, and internal security challenges were deliberated upon, with a focus on optimizing resources and leveraging modern technology to enhance operational effectiveness.

One of the highlights of the conference was the presentation of the prestigious Rajbhasha Trophies to commendable units and establishments within the Assam Rifles.

The trophies were awarded to 27 Assam Rifles, 28 Assam Rifles, and the Assam Rifles Training Centre & School for their outstanding contributions to the promotion and implementation of the Hindi language in the work culture and functioning of their respective units.

This recognition underscores the Assam Rifles’ commitment to promoting linguistic diversity while fostering a culture of inclusivity and communication within the organization.

The Assam Rifles, being one of the oldest paramilitary forces in India, plays a crucial role in safeguarding the nation’s borders, maintaining internal security, and conducting counter-insurgency operations in the Northeast region.

As such, ensuring the operational readiness and effectiveness of the force remains paramount in fulfilling its mandate of protecting the sovereignty and integrity of the nation.
