Officer Cadets of the Technical Entry Scheme (TES) Course 47 and 45, from the Cadet Training Wing (CTW) of the Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (MCEME), have successfully concluded a series of tactical exercises named EX SURAKSHA and EX VAJRA. The exercises were conducted from April 1 to April 4, 2024, focusing on enhancing the cadets’ tactical skills in Defence and Counter Insurgency operations under realistic field conditions.
The cadets underwent rigorous training in an outdoor camp setting, where they were exposed to various scenarios that tested their ability to apply tactical knowledge and skills in challenging environments. The primary objective of these exercises was to prepare the future military leaders for the complexities of modern warfare and operations against insurgencies, ensuring they are ready to tackle the challenges they will face in their careers.
The culmination of the training camp was marked by the EX JOSH RUN, a demanding run back to the Wing, which served as the ultimate test of the cadets’ endurance and determination. The EX JOSH RUN is designed to push the cadets to their limits, emphasizing the importance of physical fitness, mental resilience, and the spirit of camaraderie among the future officers of the Indian Army.
These exercises are a critical component of the comprehensive training regimen at the CTW, MCEME, aimed at developing well-rounded, technically proficient, and tactically competent officers. The successful completion of EX SURAKSHA and EX VAJRA reflects the high standards of training and dedication of the cadets and their instructors, underscoring the commitment of the Indian Army to maintaining excellence in its training programs.
As these officer cadets move forward in their training and into their respective careers, the experiences gained during these exercises will undoubtedly play a pivotal role in shaping them into effective leaders, capable of leading from the front in any situation they may face in the service of the nation.
