The Forward Area Tour commenced with visits to various Indian Army deployments, where the participants had the privilege of interacting with frontline troops and observing their operational preparedness firsthand.

From forward operating bases nestled amidst snow-capped peaks to remote outposts overlooking strategic passes, the participants gained invaluable insights into the challenges and complexities of operating in high-altitude areas.

Accompanied by experienced instructors and seasoned officers, the participants delved deep into the operational dynamics of the region, exploring themes such as acclimatization, logistical support, and the integration of air power in mountain warfare scenarios.

Through immersive exercises and scenario-based simulations, they grappled with the intricacies of joint operations, gaining a holistic understanding of the synergies between land and air forces in achieving operational objectives.

The visit to Indian Air Force deployments added a new dimension to the participants’ learning experience, as they witnessed firsthand the critical role played by aerial platforms in providing close air support, casualty evacuation, and logistical resupply in remote and inaccessible areas.

Through collaborative exercises and interactive discussions, the participants exchanged ideas and best practices, laying the groundwork for seamless integration and synergy in future joint operations.

As the participants of DSTSC – 06 return to MILIT, Pune, they carry with them a wealth of knowledge and experiences gained during the Forward Area Tour. Armed with a deeper understanding of operational logistics and the challenges inherent in high-altitude warfare, they stand poised to lead with confidence and competence in the service of the nation.
