  1. During Independence 1947 upheaval, my parents, relatives left Sialkot in helter, shelter, empty handed to save their lives from Razaks and Pakistan Army. It was a mass exodus of Hindus, who were being ruthlessly massacred, killed brutally be he or she be a child, a woman,an elderly or ailing person.Full trains were slaughtered shamelessly. Even animals do show an excellent behaviour. My Uncle, Kapoor Chand Jain, a kid of 9 -10; years got stranded and was lost from the family. Penniless he was moving near Jammu Airport when our most Loving Dear Respected Generals Carriapa and Manekshaw ji spotted a child moving next to aerodrome. The panic stricken weeping boy was caught and brought to them as per their orders. He stated lost and nearest relatives is my sister at Jullunder. They enquired, consoled, got him food and directed he be put on board the plane as they too were rushing for Jullunder. They comforted him, themselves stricken by the imposed major upsurge, war and killings, brought him to Jullunder to be sent with escort to her sister’s place. JUST A VERY SMALL INCIDENT OF OUR GREATEST OF GREAT HUMANLY GENERALS,EVEN DURING HUGE CRISIS THE ARMY WAS PASSONG THROUGH. HAT’S OFF TO INDIAN ARMY, AIR FORCE,NAVY,DEFENCE PERSONNEL with such Noble qualities and values.
