In an enriching 10-day educational visit that began on June 20, thirty NCC cadets from various units in Ladakh arrived at the Eastern Naval Command (ENC) in Visakhapatnam to explore and learn about the maritime capabilities of the Indian Navy.
The visit kicked off with a yoga session on International Day of Yoga, where the cadets joined trainees from the Dockyard Apprentice School in Visakhapatnam. Following the session, the cadets received an introductory briefing on the role, structure, and operational insights of the Indian Navy and the ENC.
Throughout their stay, the cadets are scheduled to engage in various activities that will introduce them to the diverse maritime operations of the Navy. Their itinerary includes tours of naval ships, submarines, and air stations, which are aimed at providing them a comprehensive view of naval life and operations.
A highlight of their visit was the guided tour at the naval air station INS Dega, where the cadets were briefed on naval air operations, the structure of air squadrons, and the types of aircraft in service. This visit to INS Dega provided the cadets with a unique opportunity to witness the sophisticated aviation facilities operated by the Indian Navy.
This educational trip is part of a broader initiative to acquaint NCC cadets with various facets of the armed forces, enhancing their understanding and appreciation of the military’s role in national security.
