A group of 27 trainees from the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA) visited the Southern Naval Command as part of their training program. The visit aimed to enhance cooperation and understanding between law enforcement agencies and the Indian Navy, particularly in the context of coastal security.
During their visit, the IPS trainees were given a comprehensive briefing at the Joint Operations Center (JOC) and the Signal Processing Board (SPB) about the coastal security framework. This included insights into the coordination mechanisms and operational strategies employed to secure India’s extensive coastline.
The trainees also boarded the INS Shardul, where they were informed about the ship’s roles and capabilities. The session on INS Shardul provided a practical understanding of the naval operations and the critical role played by the Indian Navy in national security, especially in maritime contexts.
This visit underscores the importance of synergy between the Indian Navy and civilian law enforcement agencies in maintaining maritime security and safety.
