A profound wave of mourning has swept across several districts from Dehradun to Rudraprayag following the tragic deaths of multiple soldiers in a recent terrorist attack in Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir. Among the fallen are Naib Subedar Anand Singh Rawat, Rifleman Adarsh Negi, Naik Vinod Singh, Havildar Kamal Singh, and Rifleman Anuj Negi, who were ambushed in a violent confrontation with terrorists.
Rifleman Adarsh Negi, aged 26, hailed from Thati Dagar village in Tehri district. Before joining the Garhwal Rifles in 2019, he was a student at Garhwal University. His fellow villager, Naik Vinod Singh, also from Tehri Garhwal district, was another valiant soldier lost in the attack. Singh’s family currently resides in Bhaniyawala, Dehradun, while he was originally from Chaund Jaspur village.
The loss of Naib Subedar Anand Singh Rawat, 41, from Kandakhal in Rudraprayag, has particularly resonated with the community, igniting a profound grief among his family members. While his family lives in Dehradun, his mother and brother continue to reside in his native village.
In Pauri district, the communities are grieving the deaths of Havildar Kamal Singh from Papri village and Rifleman Anuj Negi from Dobaria village. Both soldiers were committed to their duties and deeply connected to their roots in the Lansdowne and Rikhnikhal tehsils, respectively.
These brave hearts are mourned by their families and communities, who remember them for their courage, dedication, and the ultimate sacrifice they made for the country. Their passing is a somber reminder of the dangers faced by military personnel and the profound impact of their loss on small communities across the nation.
