Why Speed Matters for Missiles?

Speed is a critical factor for missiles due to several key reasons. Firstly, high speeds enhance a missile’s ability to evade enemy defenses, making interception extremely challenging. The faster a missile travels, the less time an adversary has to react, increasing the likelihood of successful target penetration.

Additionally, high speeds contribute to the missile’s range and responsiveness, allowing for rapid deployment and engagement.

The List of the 5 Fastest Missiles in the World

  1. Easy to notice America has done little to keep up with Russia and China.
America has little ballistic defense and can’t stop the new hypersonic missiles.
Our govt has failed us again, we have no modern bunkers for citizens while Russia has been preparing for decades we’ve only prepared for the elite

    • Have you some inkling that building hypersonic weapons is a different thing than building a defense system against them? You go from reading an article about the best missiles to concluding Russia and China are steamrolling us in building defense against them.
Consider perhaps the US, which spends more on national defense than those countries put together, and MAYBE they’re just not inclined to have a parade to show and tell as other nations do…

    • Bro , brahmos has low range as well as a low key hypersonic speed (8 mach and old version has 2.8 mach) . In addition, it’s a cruise missile and here we are specifying ballistic missile which have huge speeds .
