Naik Dilawar Khan Made Supreme Sacrifice in Srinagar

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri also extended their heartfelt condolences to Khan's grieving family.

Naik (Gunner) Dilawar Khan, a valiant soldier of the Indian Army from Una district’s Bangana sub-division, was martyred during an encounter with terrorists near Srinagar on Wednesday morning. The 28-year-old soldier hailed from Gharwasda village in Bangana.

Dilawar Khan’s body is scheduled to be brought back to his native village on Thursday, July 25, at around 2 pm. His funeral will be conducted with full state honors later that same day, as confirmed by Deputy Director Sainik Welfare, S. Kalia.

Born in March 1996, Khan joined the army on December 20, 2014, and served with distinction for nearly a decade. His commitment to his duty and his bravery in the face of danger have been deeply mourned by the community and state officials alike. Kutlehar MLA Vivek Sharma, along with other members of the state cabinet, expressed profound condolences over Khan’s martyrdom.

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri also extended their heartfelt condolences to Khan’s grieving family. The Chief Minister remarked on the profound sorrow felt across the state due to the loss of such a brave soldier. He reassured that Dilawar Khan’s supreme sacrifice in the fight against terrorism would not be forgotten.

Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri noted that Khan’s martyrdom had sent shockwaves throughout the district, praising his valiant efforts to ensure the safety of his fellow countrymen.
