Indian Army Officers Visit Patanjali on Bengal Engineer Group's 222nd Anniversary to Celebrate Health and Wellness Contributions

In a significant event marking the 222nd anniversary of the Bengal Engineer Group and Centre, senior officers from the Indian Army’s Technology Regiment, accompanied by their families, visited the expansive Patanjali campus to acknowledge the organization’s contributions to health and wellness. The delegation, which included distinguished figures such as retired Lieutenant Generals R.M. Chadha, Vijay Sharma, and D.S. Ahuja, as well as Brigadiers S. Gopikrishnan and Devendra Pratap Singh, was joined by over 70 fellow officers for this special occasion. The officers had the privilege of meeting with Patanjali founders, Swami Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna.

During their visit, the officers explored Patanjali’s facilities and recognized its significant role in promoting holistic well-being through the principles of yoga and Ayurveda. Swami Ramdev took the opportunity to emphasize Patanjali’s core mission, which is to assist Indian citizens in achieving mental, physical, and spiritual liberation through the revival of traditional practices.

Founded in 2006, Patanjali has rapidly risen to become one of India’s largest Ayurvedic and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) brands, offering an extensive range of products, from natural health supplements to everyday essentials, all crafted with a strong focus on indigenous and organic ingredients. Ramdev highlighted the parallel missions of both Patanjali and the Bengal Engineer Group, with each organization dedicated to “engineering” a stronger India—one through defense infrastructure and the other through “inner engineering” promoting personal wellness.

Acharya Balkrishna, the managing director of Patanjali, shared insights on the shared vision of servitude to the nation. He articulated that just as the Indian Army instills values of patriotism and bravery, Patanjali strives to inspire individuals to embrace a healthier lifestyle while fostering an appreciation for Indian heritage. Balkrishna further explained that the organization’s mission extends beyond merely producing goods; it involves raising awareness about the benefits of yoga and Ayurveda and advocating a return to traditional practices, which collectively support self-reliance and national pride. Under his leadership, Patanjali has established numerous centers across India and expanded its focus into research, aiming to harmonize ancient wisdom with modern science.

The anniversary celebration proved to be an excellent platform for officials from Patanjali and the Indian Army to engage in discussions on leadership and service, reinforcing the commitment of both organizations to the betterment of society and the nation as a whole.
