In a recent visit to the Remount Training School & Depot (RTS&D) in Hempur, Lt Gen Mukesh Chadha, Chief of Staff (COS) of the Indian Army’s Central Command, conducted a comprehensive review of the training and administrative setup of the establishment. The visit took place on February 18, 2025, as part of ongoing efforts to ensure the highest standards within the command’s jurisdiction.

During his visit, Lt Gen Chadha expressed his appreciation for the numerous achievements of the RTS&D, particularly praising the innovations in farm implements and the exemplary training provided to animals. The Central Command, headquartered in Lucknow, oversees an extensive area including eight Indian states, playing a pivotal role in the operational and logistical readiness of the Indian Army.

The Remount Training School & Depot is renowned for its specialized training programs for horses and mules, which are integral to the mobility and logistics of the armed forces, especially in rugged terrains.
