Under the leadership of Lt Gen Sandeep Jain, Commandant of the Indian Military Academy (IMA) and Colonel of the Mahar Regiment, the 35th Biennial Battalion Commanders Conference was successfully held at the Mahar Regimental Centre in Sagar. The event took place on February 18, 2025, bringing together Commanding Officers, officers from affiliated sister services such as INS Kolkata and 8 Squadron IAF, along with senior officers of the Mahar Regiment for a comprehensive strategic discussion.

The conference focused on a thorough assessment of regimental goals, alongside a holistic review of training methodologies, regimental affairs, and human resource management. The Mahar Regiment, originally envisioned to be composed of troops from the Mahar community, has evolved to include diverse communities from states like Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar. This inclusivity reflects the modern Indian Army’s ethos of unity in diversity.
