Armed Forces Heroes to Share Operation Sindoor Story on KBC’s Independence Day Special

Col Sofiya Qureshi, Wg Cdr Vyomika Singh, and Cdr Prerna Deosthalee join Amitabh Bachchan on August 15 episode.

Kaun Banega Crorepati’s Independence Day special episode will feature three decorated Indian Armed Forces officers, Colonel Sofiya Qureshi of the Indian Army, Wing Commander Vyomika Singh of the Indian Air Force and Commander Prerna Deosthalee of the Indian Navy, who will narrate their experiences from the high-risk counterterror mission Operation Sindoor.

In a recently released promo, Amitabh Bachchan welcomed the officers to the hot seat, where Col Qureshi explained the mission’s genesis, “Pakistan had been carrying out such acts repeatedly. A response was necessary, and that’s why Operation Sindoor was planned.”

Wing Commander Vyomika Singh recalled the rapid pace of the mission, stating, “From 1:05 AM to 1:30 AM, we completed the entire operation in just 25 minutes.” Commander Prerna highlighted the precision planning that ensured all targets were destroyed without harming civilians.

The promo ended with Col Qureshi declaring, “This is a new India with a new vision,” followed by the audience and Bachchan chanting “Bharat Mata Ki Jai.”

Operation Sindoor was launched in response to the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians in Jammu and Kashmir. Both Col Qureshi and Wg Cdr Vyomika played crucial roles and addressed the media during the mission. The special episode will air on August 15, adding a patriotic note to KBC’s 17th season.
