A new state-of-the-art OPD block was inaugurated at Ramgarh Military Station in memory of a fallen Captain Anshuman, marking a significant step in the Army’s commitment to healthcare and welfare for its personnel.
During the ceremony, Lieutenant General Rajan Shekhawat, General Officer Commanding, also reviewed several ongoing welfare and sustainability initiatives at the Punjab and Sikh Regimental Centres. His inspection covered projects such as water harvesting systems, lake rejuvenation works, and a modern CCTV monitoring network aimed at strengthening security and operational efficiency.
Lt Gen Shekhawat, a decorated officer and Shaurya Chakra awardee, has the unique distinction of summiting Mount Everest three times. His visit highlighted not just military leadership but also a vision for balancing operational excellence with ecological responsibility. He lauded the regimental centres for their green initiatives and urged troops to continue their pursuit of excellence in all spheres.
The newly inaugurated OPD block, combined with the eco-friendly projects, reflects the Army’s dual focus on enhanced medical facilities and sustainable development. The event was attended by local officials, veterans, and serving personnel, who were also briefed on future development plans for the cantonment.
